During the Holocaust in 1933 a lot of Jewish parents were trying to hide their children to protect them from harm or death by the Nazis. The Nazis were trying to kill all Jewish people. There are a lot of people that were risking their lives for the children of Jews. I’m going to be talking about one of the woman that helped save some children. Caecilia Antonia Maria Loots was a hero of the holocaust because she helped save children while putting her life at risk. Caecilia Loots also known as Tante Ciel was born in 1903 and died in 1988. She was born in Haarlem, Netherlands, but ran a small private school in Amersfoort, Utrecht. The school was for children with severe learning disabilities. the children just for the fun of it to help them get better, and also it helped her and the children get stuff off of their minds for example the holocaust and everyone that was dying. In 1942 she was asked to take in some Jewish children, Caecilia being the Catholic she is agreed to this. Doing this she put her life at major risk, she could have got killed if anyone found out. Hiding these children she decided to let them go to her school so they can get a little bit of education while staying in the school for hiding. Just like the other children she gave music lessons for free. She always tried her hardest to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all of the students. A girl named Dina Van Heiningen helped Caecilia while know the Jewish children were there.
Dina did the house work for Caecilia but while doing this she actually helped caecilian keep the children a secret and safe from harm. They both did everything possible to give the children a natural environment to grow up in. Caecilia saved seven Jewish children altogether their names were: Betty Springer, Lieneke Sons Mark, Dori Cleef van, Miriam Emanuel, Joost MarianCleef van Sons Bont, Bont Paur, and First name unknown Rosen. Therefore I believe Caecilia Antonia Maria Loots is a hero for doing this for the Jewish children she was hiding for their safety. While she did this she put her life at major risk of being killed, but she did this because she was Catholic, and believed in helping others. She was there for those kids like no other. She put them through her school just so they could have some education. She gave free music lessons for them and others. Caecilia helped them keep their minds off of everything going on around them. I truly believe she save these children from a lot of things at the same time as hiding them
away.
Annie Turnbo Malone was an entrepreneur and was also a chemist. She became a millionaire by making some hair products for some black women. She gave most of her money away to charity and to promote the African American. She was born on august 9, 1869, and was the tenth child out of eleven children that where born by Robert and Isabella turnbo. Annie’s parents died when she was young so her older sister took care of her until she was old enough to take care of herself.
The Holocaust was one of the most horrific event to ever happen in history. A young boy named Elie Wiesel and a young woman named Gerda Weismann were both very lucky survivors of this terrible event who both, survived to tell their dreadful experiences. Elie and Gerda both handled the Holocaust in many similar and different ways.
At that time, Viola Desmond was the one of the only successful black canadian business woman and beautician in Halifax because there are were very few careers offered to the black. She Attended Bloomfield High school and also, studied in a program from Field Beauty Culture School, located in Montreal. These schools were one of the only academies that accepted black students. After she graduated, she promoted and sold her products because she wanted expanded her business;she also sold many of her products to her graduates. In addition, she opened a VI’s studio of beauty culture in Halifax.

Rachel Dein is a London Based artist, who studied Fine Arts at Middlesex University . She is most famously known for her tiles made of cement and plaster featuring molds of flowers. She currently runs and owns the Tactile Studio in North London to support herself and her three children. Before setting up her own studio, but after going to art school, she decided to take up an apprenticeship at The Royal Opera House and later branched out to other theaters to continue her prop making career including The English National Opera, The West End Theaters, London Transport Museum and Selfridges Christmas windows. Her time in prop making allowed her to explore her love of theatre, film, and opera while expanding her knowledge of 3d design. She also enjoys gardening, which is where she has gotten some of the materials for her craft.
•Although she may not be one of the most famous Holocaust survivors, she was one of the most important. She led about 2,500 children to safety from the horrible Ghetto's conditions. She was never forced to do any of the things she did, yet she still risked her life and almost lost it doing something so important to her.

Over one million Jewish children died during the Holocaust. They were ripped out of their homes and taken away from their families, and stripped of their childhoods. Innocent lives were caught in a war that they were not able to stop. When Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933, he promised Germany that he would improve life their by getting rid of the one race that caused the problems, the Jews. Jews, including Jewish children, were sent to concentration camps, inspected, and if approved, were sent to work. All others would have been sent to be killed. Being sent to work did not ensure survival, children would be given very little food and water, and beaten severely, which caused their death. None of the children of the Holocaust will ever forget the experience they went through, they will always remember.
Anne Frank, born on June 12, 1929 was a teenage writer, who wrote everything about her experience during the Holocaust in her diary. She was from Frankfurt, but sudden moved to Amsterdam in February 1934 after Nazi’s seize of power, and their intentions for the Jews. Anne and her family was hidden in the Secret Annex, which was located behind a attic above a family owned business. The heroes that helped the Frank family was Johannes Kleiman, Victor Kugler, Jan Gies, and Miep Gies. They would risk their own lives helping the Franks. They finally got caught 2 years later in August 4, 1944 when an anonymous caller gave a tip to the Gestapo (German Secret State Police). Anne and her family was sent to concentration camps, which sadly herself, sister and mother died. Luckily her father Otto Frank survived and published her diary to share her
Joan of Arc lived for a very short time, but was involved in so much of the middle ages of Europe. She motivated the French army, when at their lowest to aggressively attack the English with spiritual words and actions. She was captured and tried for a false crime by a corrupt jurisdiction and put to death. Following she would be burned alive and forever remembered as a Patron Saint of the Roman Catholic Church. She is and has been an inspiration to both men and women for almost 600 years and stories will be told about her for another 600 more.
The Holocaust Nicholas Winton was a selfless and a holocaust hero because he secretly saved hundreds of jewish children from death. Many people might say he wasn't the only person to be saving these children , but i think he was the best for never getting caught or telling his secret to keep these kids safe.
According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, “The Holocaust was the systematic, bureaucratic, state- sponsored persecution and murder of approximately six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators” (1). Six million people were killed because they were not thought of as worthy to be alive. That does not include the number of people who survived this tragic event. It is hard to consider the survivors of this time period as lucky because, a victim of a concentration camp was treated in such a way that death would seem like a relief. A very well-known thirteen year old victim of the Holocaust, Anne Frank, had kept a diary while she was alive so one day people could read it and see the tragedy from her side. Anne documented the events in her life during the time she and her family hid out, graphically expressing the terror, fear and the light of hope. Anne said:
There is one thing all hidden children of the holocaust have in common, silence. Lola Rein Kaufman is one of those hidden children. And she is done being silent. Lola Rein was a hidden child during the holocaust. She was one of the lucky ones; one of the 10,000- 500,000 that survived. Her family wasn’t as lucky. Lola endured, los, abandonment, and constant fear, but has now chosen to shed her cloak of silence.
Can you imagine being separated from you mom or dad? Well thats exactly happened to most of the children. Imagine having to be torched without you mom or dad. If they were not separated from their parents they had to watch their parents suffer. Parents had to watch their children suffer.
