After college I will have many more career options than I would have originally had if I hadn't had if I had only obtained a high school
“Zachary’s attentiveness to Sunny had begun with no warning”(Joyce Carol Oates, 572), attentiveness without warning? What a mystery! So put on your detective hat and buckle up your shoes! Two unlikely candidates that knew of each other all their lives and were given numerous opportunities to connect, yet it is not until the second half of their senior year that Zachary dare breathe a word. Joyce Carol Oates groundbreaking short story of the 20th century “Life after High School” presents us with the mystifying themes of our search for penance,
Most people want a lot of job opportunities to choose from well in order to have those opportunities you have to have a diploma or GED. Other people might say that you can still get a good job even without a diploma or GED, most of the time those are low paying jobs at a fast food restaurant. The diploma can get you almost any job because most jobs require you to have a high school diploma or GED. Instead of always being passed by for the good jobs, you’ll have the opportunity to get jobs that are more interesting. Most people who just drop out of high school have a harder time
A high school diploma is important to my future like it is for many individuals who have goals and aspirations to succeed in life. A high school diploma is a foundation for basic education before going to college and it's a great accomplishment not too many people get to have. With a high school diploma many educational and professional opportunities will be available to me. I'll have better long term economic outcomes than individuals who do not have a high school diploma.
If you're in high school the most common question you ask yourself is “will i go to college? and is it really worth it ?” My answer is yes, this is why, college usually pays of in the long run, What I mean is that in average a person that goes to college gets a better pay. If you are planning on graduating with a degree that involves STEM ( science technology engineering and mathematics) there will be 4 jobs available for those graduates while on the other hand a high school graduate will have 4 persons competing for the same job including themselves. In most cases people who do/did go to college also are healthier and have a greater self
Figuring out if they should find jobs right out of high school or go to college first. Nevertheless, most people are sure that they want to have a better job. Not only one that will pay more, but one they are pleased with, and one that makes him/her happy. Today, practically 60 percent of all jobs in the United States require their employers to have a higher education. Jobs for individuals who only have a high school diploma are decreasing. A large majority of high school graduates work in some type of service industry. These individuals also work in low paying jobs with no position to advance. On the other hand, college graduates tend to have more skills that qualify them for a much larger range of employment opportunities. This makes it easier for them to move up in positions. According to Catherine Rampell, “there are more employed college graduates today than employed high school graduates and high school dropouts put together” (678). Thus, as the economy progresses over the years to come, college graduates will be better placed to find jobs that will offer a larger amount of pay. Therefore, earning a college degree will greatly enhance your marketability as a professional.
For example, having a better career could make it possible to have a better retirement and old age security. Furthermore, continuing education after high school would develop a better understanding of people, provide a great opportunity to meet a wide variety of people, and build a network of friends and contacts. Moreover, Higher education is not only important for career development; it clearly plays a role in personal development as well. Post-secondary education would be an assist in bringing us close to our family, friends, and society, and would make our lives vivid.
After high school majority of parents want their children to go to college, graduate, have a promising career and start a family and this is the American dream. Of course going to college will earn you a career and make you financial stable with certain jobs. To earn all those things you need to work even harder to achieve them. Going through four to eight years of college is exhausting and time consuming. There are a lot of stages you go through during college starting from high school. For me I can say that it has been a long journey but it is a well worth journey because of the reward I will receive in the end. In college financial aid, teachers, assignments, and classrooms are different from high school in a major way.
Everyone has their own reasons for wanting a college education. Popular reasons for attending college include being able to obtain a better paying job, increase future earning potential, gain training for a specific career, and learning more about a specific topic of interest. Rampell, C. (2015) My reasons are more personal than either of the reasons listed. I do not wish to miss out on significant opportunities that have the potential to enrich my life and future. If there is anything in my life that I would regret it would be not pursuing my college education. As we get older life happens and the list of things we wish we could have done gets longer. Knowing that it is never too late to accomplish my goals is strong motivation to shorten the list of should haves. Obtaining a college education is important to me because I will have a strong sense of accomplishment for setting a goal that is important to me and seeing it through to the end. I also enjoy challenges and feel inspired by the endless possibilities for my future.
First of all, college gives us a variety of careers. You may want to be a Doctor or an Astronomer. Both careers are day and night different, but that is the beauty of a college education you are given the opportunity to explore new waters. High school graduates that don't move on to college are not given this opportunity, they are forced to choose from menial and odd jobs, that you may not even enjoy. In the article “Importance of a College Education” by Mr. Hobsons the author states “High school graduates
A high school diploma is practically just a piece of paper anymore. You must have a college degree in order to get a well-paying job. Sure you can go into the labor force right out of high school, but you may only be making $40,000 a year. That much money may sound like a lot, but in reality it is not. People with a college degree tend to make twice that amount, if not three or four times that amount of money a year.
The high school diploma a ticket to bring my own agendas and dreams into fruition in the preceding months entering college. This autobiography is a poignant journey of how I made it to college. I set an example for the young people today. If taken can be an inspiration to change many lives. It shows some of my central mysteries of education, diligent work, and belief. I hope I can make going to college important in writing a sideline story of my come up. Nothing is impossible as long as one does not quit visualizing who he or she wants to be. Be bold to write the future and just do it to make it to
The purpose of a high school education is to prepare one for college and ultimately, the workforce. By the end of freshman year, in high school, the average student has learned a sufficient amount of material in enough subjects that he or she can be considered "well-rounded" in his or her studies. This is because the rate at which material is covered in schools, across the nation, has increased dramatically compared to the past. Students now learn more advanced curriculum at a younger age, and this continues to become more evident year after year. High school has now become more focused on teaching students a small amount of information on several essential subjects, rather than having them focus deeply on the subjects they seek to pursue in their career.
Life After High School I’ve just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a lot of decisions to make and not much time to make them. These decisions will either make or break my life, and I want to make sure that I make them to the best of my ability, because there is no turning back. I need to make sure I definitely want to attend college.
“What are your plans after high school?.”, This is a question that everyone is asked multiple times throughout the course of their lives. Sometimes it is just something that they themselves ponder in their own thoughts. What someone does after high school should be something that is not only interesting to that person, but will ultimately lead them into a career that they will loved and enjoy. A great career that is definitely worth considering is that of a paramedic. The job description of a paramedic is very broad and can have many affects on a person's life. But not only is this job greatly fulfilling to someone’s personal life, it is also very fulfilling to someone else’s life as well. It is a fast paced, adrenaline fueled job that requires more than the faint of heart. It requires a person who not only enjoys the thrill of the rush and a hard adrenaline pump, but is also content with
It is important for students to graduate high school because there are more jobs available & more opportunities for college. This would help you pursue your “successful lifestyle”. Lots of employers(including Uncle Sam) and schools don’t look at the GED as equivalent to a diploma and raise the admissions or hiring standards for GED holders because they haven’t earned a four-year diploma. Not really fair is it? Employers are going to look at a high school diploma and know that you had the smarts and persistence to stick with high school for four years.
