Why LC?
I initially considered Lewis and Clark Law School, as it seemed a natural choice after attending Lewis & Clark College as an undergraduate, and never leaving Portland. Although I am considering relocating for law school, I would be delighted to stay here in Portland and continue to enjoy all this city, and surrounding area, has to offer. The Pacific Northwest is an idyllic place to live, as exemplified by the gorgeous forest surrounding Lewis and Clark, in which I have often taken a peaceful walk to relax. I also appreciate Portland’s culture of delicious food, and especially coffee, as well as its friendly people. In addition to its location, this school appeals to me in its own right. Although I was aware of Lewis and Clark Law
On September 9th, 1993 at around two in the morning, 17 year old Christopher Simmons, 15 year old Charlie Benjamin and 16 year old John Tessmer met at the home of 29 year old Brian Moomey. Moomey drove the three teens to the house of 46 year old Shirley Crook. Tessmer refused to go with them and ended up going back to his house. Simmons and Benjamin went to the back of Shirley Crook’s house, found a window and cracked it open. When they reached though to unlock the back door and entered the house, Simmons turned on the hallway light. The light woke her and she yelled out, “Who’s there?” Simmons walked into her bedroom and told her to get out of bed and lay on the floor. They duct taped her mouth and eyes and wrapped an electrical cord around
The school is huge and being a college prep school it is also selective in the students who get enrolled. The focus is on teaching and learning. The school seems predominately white with a few students of color.

During the late 1800’s to the mid 1900’s, the United States was tainted by the stain of the slavery era, especially in the southern states. There was a great prejudice against blacks and the white majority was able to prevent them from practicing their basic rights, especially the right to vote and the right to get an education. When people started to question why there should be this segregation within society, they brought the issues to the United States Supreme Court. These conflicts resulted in the Supreme Court cases, Plessy v. Ferguson and Brown v. Board of Education, two of the most influential court cases in United States history.
The Warren Court is big because the Warren Court it is the court that takes the Fourteenth Amendment, which states (Insert 14th Amendment here) and starts taking action by challenging rules and laws that exist in states which results in the expansion of civil liberties but more of a federal kind of action. Conservatives at the time would complain because they believe it is not the Supreme Courts job, but Congress’s job. The Supreme Court sees it in the sense of protecting liberty and the Bill of Rights by using the Fourteenth Amendment.

As a student with A's and B's I would like to exspand my learning. With Clear Horizons being the the 5th highest school in the state I would appreciate attending and having the experience. At the moment I am not learning as much as I would like to in my Pre-Ap classes even
An exigent circumstance can be defined as a situation in which an urgent police action is needed. According to the Fourth Amendment, police officers should not invade someone’s home without permission or a warrant. Getting into someone’s home without the warrant is forbidden unless there is an instance or circumstance that calls for the police to get to the house due to the urgency of the action to be taken. The police are allowed to get into someone’s house under some conditions which can be termed as exigent circumstances, which that warrant is ignored and the entry to be justified. These circumstances include the following:
“Democracy in America is over” (Grayson). The Supreme Court’s decision in favor of Citizens United leads us further down a path that will leave everyday citizens disenfranchised and wealthy, private interests more powerful than ever. The case was appealed to the Supreme Court by Citizens United after lower courts declared their film, “Hillary”, illegal under the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act. It was considered independent spending on what is essentially political propaganda attacking Hillary Clinton and spending falling into this category made within 30 days of an election is illegal under the BCRA. Citizens United claimed that the part of the law they were said to be in violation of was unconstitutional and limited their free speech and that they were not in violation anyway, since their advertising was not done by direct
I have earned 69 credits with a 3.59 grade point average. I am applying my paralegal education to change in public policy and social. I overcame many hardships caused from the reckless behavior of my parents growing up. My desire to volunteer for CASA (Court appointed special advocate) and be the voice for endangered children in the judicial system derive from my own childhood. The legal system is a scary place for a child and they can feel alone, not knowing what may happen to them.
There are many attractions to Cal State Northridge and this online SLP master’s program. First, my husband and I are “Made in the CSU.” My husband and I held student executive officer positions at Cal State Long Beach and Cal State Fullerton, respectively. Becoming a Matador and expanding my graduate education to CSUN is a dream come true. Second, is my commitment to the California public education system, which has been fostered by numerous individuals whom I have met through my involvement in campus service at CSUF, as an advocate for public higher education on the California State Student Association, in my classes, and through my sorority. Third, is that I am a mother of two beautiful babies (and trying to adopt a third). Next year, my
