Level Five Leader

In this lifetime there have been two leaders that have affected me greatly. One of these leaders was a level five leader, and the other leader was only a level three leader. The only difference between the level five leader and the level three leader was that the level five leader knew where he was going and found people to take with him. The level three leader knew where he was going he just does not have the need or the know how to take more people with him. The level five leader is my old high school football coach Greg Kendrick while the level three leader is my uncle, Justin Tate. Both of these men have made the largest impact on my life and have both displayed the five levels of leadership without even knowing it. Coach K displayed …show more content…

Although he had the position he never made a big deal about it and he never seemed threatened by the other coaches. He was not the type of guy to yell at you and tell you to do something just because he was the head coach and he said to do it. I think this is where he differs from most other high school football coaches because he does not use his position to threaten you to do something. He has had the greatest impact in my life and he is a prime example of how to some people a person can be a level one leader but to other people that same person may be a level five leader. Justin is a level one leader to me because under most circumstances he is my boss during the summer so that automatically gives him the level one position, but on the same not he has never used his position over me in any sort of way. At first I followed Justin because I wanted a paycheck during the summer, but over time we developed a very strong bond with each other. At first we would just kind talk to each other back and forth in the truck but after a while the conversations started to have meaning behind them and we developed a very good relationship. If anyone were to look at Justin all they would see is production which is the third level of leadership. This man gets up around noon everyday to go out and work on his odd jobs which he stops doing around 6:30 P.M and then goes straight to his full time job working at Hiland Dairy until five in the morning and goes home to get around five to six hours of sleep only to wake up and repeat this process over again. Justin is the man that taught me the work ethic that I have today and is still teaching me many valuable lessons about how to
