Leadership and Direction
A leader will know what direction they want their organization to go. They will have clearly communicated their vision to their followers. In order to achieve successful results for their vision an effective leader will have a well organized, detailed plan delegating important tasks to the appropriate people who will assist in achieving the vision.
Planning
An effective leader will have a carefully organized plan that will outline the tasks involved in reaching the vision, who will be assigned to those tasks and the time it will take to complete them. An effective leader will include as many people as possible into planning and executing the plan, allowing people to have a sense of ownership throughout the process. …show more content…

As stated by Clark (2014, p. 3) “Organizing is the process of creating and maintaining the conditions for effectively executing plans.” An effective leader will have a carefully organized plan on how to achieve his vision.
Asking Questions
By asking specific questions during the planning process as well as throughout the project a leader will have clear understanding of the performance of the plan. As stated in the Army hand book and cited by Clark (2014) “Two key questions must be asked when planning. What are all the ingredients necessary for its successful execution? What are all the possible forces or events that could hinder or destroy it?” (p.3). The author also states the importance of setting the priorities and assigning someone to perform each of those tasks on the list. Creating leadership roles into the process and execution plan will allow for the leader to focus on the larger vision while influencing the progress and direction of the plan. A leader will have several milestone check points within the project to ensure the performance of the plan. Having a system in place for all team members to be able to check the progress will assist in ensuring that each task is accomplished on time. Being
