Julia is 61 years old and she is from Egypt. She has five children, three sons and two daughters, none of which live with her. Julia’s husband passed away 20 years ago. She eventually became the sole provider for all of her children. One of her children is a doctor and another one is an engineer, her children did very well in school and were able to get well-paying jobs. Julia’s children ended up getting married and some of them even have children of their own. As her daughters married she began to feel isolated. Her children are all grown up and have started families of their own. She now lives alone and has a lot of free time. Work used to be one of the most important things to her because it was her source of income that allowed her to take care of her family. As adults age and reach late adulthood their focal points become more streamlined. It is not uncommon for adults who lose loved ones to try and recoup through their personal goals. Personal goals may include reflection on the life they have lived and trying to make the most of what is left. In order to stay busy, spirituality is something that she is able to keep working toward. It provides comfort and keeps her actively engaged with the surrounding world. When discussing Spiritual Identity with Julia she brought up how she hopes this will reflect on children and their children. She believes she is setting an excellent precedent for future generations in her family. After reflecting on her upbringing and the way she brought her children up she wanted to ensure that they were living the best life they could. Reflection plays a large role in spirituality. Especially with the passing of her husband, she wants to ensure that even through the hard times, he children with persevere. Julia has lived and continues to live a life that her children can look up
