All methods in language teaching are a pre-designed set of description of how the teacher should teach the learner and how the learner should learn obtain from a specific theory of language and a theory of language learning. These theories are attain from the parts of linguistics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics and are the origin of theory and applying in language teaching. Language teaching methods is divided into many methodologies. For example: The Direct Method, Grammar-Translation Method, Audio-Lingual Method, Total Physical Response, Audio-Lingual Method, The structural Method etc. Each method has its own rules, history, and different from one another. The Direct Method teaches language in the identical way in which the child first learns his mother tongue. The language is prepared through illustration and conversations in surroundings. As Direct Method put stress on speech, students obtain flow in speech. They think directly in English without the involvement of the mother tongue. They are fast at comprehending spoken English. The Direct Method learners also have good pronunciation of each word. Students who are learned through this method speak in English with great potential. In Direct Method language is taught through presentation. The Direct Method makes use of audio-visual cooperation. The use of these cooperation promote learning and makes lesson fascinating. It promotes reading and writing. Learners can speak in flow, they also write impartially quickly and rightly. In classrooms that allow students to up and down between languages, thinking in English is dejected in difference, a classroom that engages students in English demands them to do more thinking in English. Sekelj and Rigo (2011) stated that there are three phases of learning the English language. A fundamental aspect of language acquisition is acquiring sufficient vocabulary to understand and convey meaning. As the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach is today´s contemporary method of teaching languages, the Grammar Translation Approach´s Focus on Forms (FonFs) became obsolete. I have had experience with learning two languages, Spanish and Arabic. The first time I was exposed to Spanish was when I was in kindergarten and I did not study it again until high school. After took the course of TES 7410, I had a deeper understanding of language teaching. Before I learned the course, I had knew nothing about the methodology except for the GTM (the Grammar Translation Method) which is the most common method in English teaching in China. Because I am a student all the times but not a teacher, I just know a little about language teaching. All the impressions of language teaching are from my teachers in English classes in the past. The professor not only showed the theories and methods to us in the class, but also practiced with the students. The learning process was pretty good because it provided us a chance to feel the different theories and methods as students. I am glad to contact with all kinds of methodology in this course which can make me know more about the field of language teaching. Only you experience various teaching methods, you can realize the advantage and disadvantage of each method in the teaching.
