My Jungian typology is ISFJ. I have previously taken a similar self-assessment with the results of ISTJ. In reading the results for this assessment I only have a slight preference of Feeling over Thinking I believe the current assessment matches my personality at this stage in my life. I believe my strengths of being supportive, observant and hardworking are an asset. I often think things through to form a plan that has details and logic behind the concept. I stay organized and on time to complete the task at hand. My weaknesses of my typology are being shy, taking things too personally and not saying "no" when I'm overloaded. My productivity assessment resulted in a 53. As for productivity, I am considered on track but do feel I was always
more productive than results showed. I learned from this self-assessment that I'm organized and have a good attitude toward accomplishing the task while able to find and use information productively. I have learned from this assessment that I actually am more “busy” than constructive. Successful delegation is a struggle for me. The self-assessment has identified that I spend too much time on work that could be delegated and should focus on obtaining my own goals I did share my results of the Jungian Typology with my husband. I have been an Army wife for 20 years so I feel he is a good judge of my character. He is familiar with the personality assessment and believes my results are precise. We have formed a balance in our marriage even though he is an extrovert and I’m an obvious introvert. Having this knowledge of one another eases communication and allows for cooperation. I plan to incorporate all of my strengths in this course and the reminder of my education. As for my weaknesses, I feel acknowledging them can allow for improvement by adjusting behaviors to work through them. Such as being shy, I’m not sure I will ever be more extroverted but being aware of this behavior gives me opportunity to put myself out there. Another aspect to improve on would productivity, not to fill my time with busy work but focus on more directly on the task. Being a military wife has shown me many personalities over the years whether in the odd jobs I have held or variety of people in the Army life. I finally have the opportunity to continue on in education, as I did not finish my degree 25 years ago. I look forward to learning and being challenged to further development myself.
The novel Fifth Business written by Robertson Davies is about Dunstan Ramsay’s life. The novel begins from Parker’s newsletter that offends Dunstan and triggers him to write about his life to the headmaster. Davies uses Carl Jung’s archetypes to develop his novel Fifth Business which are the archetypal figures, archetypal hero’s journey, and fifth business.
Everyone has been responsible for wrongful actions in their lives. The reason for these actions as well as your envy, lies, and insecurities is your shadow. Carl Jung’s theory of the persona includes concepts of “the ego, living with the shadow and the persona and mask one wears”(Internet Wire). In “The Shadow Effect”, Jung also describes the shadow as representing “ ‘the other side’ or ‘the dark brother’, who is an inseparable part of our psyche” (Burkard Sievers). Jung explains how for a person to deal with social acceptance and the expectations of humanity, they must conceal the part of themselves that they know won’t conform with these expectations (the shadow). People conceal this part by
The Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung held the belief that archetypes served as models of personalities, people, and behaviour. He proposed that the psyche was made up of three (3) components: the ego (conscious mind), the personal unconscious (stores all memories, even suppressed ones), and the collective unconscious (contains all the knowledge and experiences shared by the human species).
Within the Jung Typology Test (JTT) it states that my type of personality is introverted, sensing, feeling and judging. The results indicated I am an introvert over extrovert, the score showed 56%. There was a marginal or no preference to sensing over intuition at 1% for this result. Moderate preference to feeling over thinking at 25%, and a strong preference to judging over perceiving at 78%. So this is saying that I am an introverted sensing with extroverted feeling.
In The Speedy Messenger, we follow the protagonist Semyon as he matured from a young man that was unknowing to the dangers of deception and underestimation by others into a man that is humble and wise to the dangers that he was one vulnerable to. This development in his personality did not happen until he underwent the conflicts of certain archetypes and the personal conflicts that he had with himself when he was depressed and trapped in his unconscious. Semyon was able to overcome his struggles with each archetype and his struggle in his unconsciousness when he was with the Sea King.
Personality types stems from Carl Jung spend time observing personality preferences, which he later on published in his in 1921. Carl’s discovery of the two major typical differences in human psychology such as extrovert and introvert influenced Katherine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Myers theories and lead them to experiment during World War II. Myers and Briggs worked on methods that would help women, who heretofore had no prior workplace experience, find those types of jobs that were most comfortable and effective (Myers & Myers, 1996). The three learning styles I have chosen to write about would meet the needs of the learners and provide an effective learner/teacher experience. Therefore, the need for learning level in people varies at all levels, to make sure the delivery method meets the learners’ expectation, it is important to re-evaluate the styles of learning chosen and make sure all background
reveal aspects of an individual character or psychological makeup. Carl Jung was a psychiatrist best known for theories of the Collective Unconscious, in this assignment I took the personality test that Carl Jung created based off personality and behavior. When completing the test my personality trait revealed to me as ISFJ with an individual preference in four dimensions characterizing my personality type including Introvert (12%), Sensing (16%), Feeling (53%), and Judging (9%). After reading the analysis of each preference I noticed that I have a few similarities that relates to my personal life and wellbeing
According to Carl Jung’s typology theory each individual develops personal preferences which become the foundation for how they face life’s challenges and interact with others. Based on this knowledge Isabel Briggs Myers developed the Myers-Briggs Type indicator (MBTI). This test helps individuals identify and study their individual preference and those of others. After taking the Jung Typology Test, which is based on the MBTI, it was confirmed that my four dominate personality preferences are Introversion, iNtuition, Thinking and Judging. Each personality preference is discussed in detail including strengths and weaknesses. The combination of the four make me a INTJ of the world. This is also discussed in detail including strengths, weaknesses,
My results said that I have an ISFJ personality. My scores were introvert (56%), Sensing (31%), Feeling (16%), and Judging (44%). The assessment stated that ISFJs frequently find themselves in occupations that either involves a lot of dealings with other people and require thoroughness and persistence. They work in organizations of various sizes and industries, where as a rule they work with people. Very often ISFJs recognize their potential in healthcare (nurse, patient care, and medical services, as well as administrative jobs) and several community care organizations. I do agree with some of the Jung Typology Seal assessments. I agree with being an introvert since I am a person that is reserved and to myself half of the time, but, on the other hand, I do like to serve others. I do not agree that I am overworked. If I get to the point to where I feel overworked, I will go to my boss and discuss the matter, so that I can get help with my work before resulting in some of extent psychosomatic illnesses. I agree with the part about working best with a small group or one-on-one situation. I also agree with the traditional careers for ISFJs attitude that include: teaching, social work, most religious work, nursing, clerical and secretarial work of any kind, and some
The Jung Personality Type Test is familiar to me as I have taken it before and know of its general premise. The test is popular in the business world but is heavily criticized by academics due to its low validity and reliability. I have taken the test several times and never received the same personality type twice. This does not mean that there have not been similarities in my results; on every test certain aspects of the results stay true and the percentages of specific personality traits stay within close range. The result of my Jung Test-- for this assignment-- classified my personality in the ENFJ typology with dominance in both the Extrovert and Introvert (E-I) traits equally, Intuition, Feelings and Judging. While I believe that we
In 1835, Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote a short story called “Young Goodman Brown.” This story takes place in the woods of Salem Village, Massachusetts. The main character, Goodman Brown, walks into the forest one night and meets a number of town members participating in what seems like a witch ceremony. It changes his outlook on the village people. The entire short story takes place in one night and the morning after. Nathaniel Hawthorne’s great grandfather served as a judge on the salem witch trials in 1692 and sentenced twenty five women to death. This is not how Hawthorne wanted to be remembered so he changed his last name from Hathorne to Hawthorne. Three of the characters in the story are based on three of the women that were accused of
The Jung Typology Test is designed to give the participant a 4-letter formula which describes strength preferences of one’s personality type. The formula is based on whether the participant favors Extraversion or Introversion, Sensing or iNtuition, Thinking or Feeling, and Judging or Perceiving when it comes to the participant’s general attitude. One will also receive a Temperament, which is based on one’s personality type formula, and can be used to make somewhat accurate predictions of the participants preferred behavior. In this essay I will discuss the results that I received after taking the test. Having a personality type that prefers extraversion, sensing, feeling, and judging comes with many strengths and weaknesses when working in
I think overall the test was very accurate in describing my personality type. I am a nurturer, kind-hearted, and want to believe the best in people. The portrait of ISFJ’s was spot on, however, I disagree with some of the relationship weaknesses. They described my personality to be very emotionally needy, with a difficult time leaving a bad relationship, or moving on from an ended relationship. I have to disagree with this because I feel I am the type of person that once you lose my trust in a relationship, I am done with trying to make that relationship work. Once I have something against a person, it’s hard for me to over-look the issue, and just keep staying in the relationship. I am very independent and don’t rely much on others for my
My personality type is Extroverted, intuitive, feeling, perceptive or ENFP. According to the description in the exercise, ENFP's are warm, enthusiastic and live their outer life more with intuition and their inner more with feeling. This assessment is consistent with the results that I received in part I of the exercise. I am an extroverted person who enjoys being around and working with people.
Psychodynamic theories acquired an important place in people’s social and cultural world. Formerly developed by Freud, they intend to explain human behaviour in relation to internal dynamics, i.e. the forces that drive it (Miller, 2011). Carl Jung, an early colleague of Freud and one of the most influential contributors for the development of psychology as a modern science, conceived a theory for the structure of personality that became known as Analytical Psychology (Jones, 2007). His theory, characterised by its complexity and multiple interacting systems, rested on the principle that in addition to the personal repressed experiences originally referred by Freud, each individual inherited a collective unconscious (Cloninger, 2009). The collective
