Writing makes me very happy. Knowing that I’d be making my writing onto a new level is amazing. As a child I used to write letters to my family that lived out of state. It was always fun to get comments about how I was
Writing is a type of art because it requires you to think and be creative in the way you want it to be. I have a diary that I wrote almost everyday. They help me think about my day and sometimes turn my bad day into a good day. I write whatever comes into my head at that moment, and reflect on my day. Writing make me think deeper to what happen and help me turn my negative thought to positive. Writing is a very powerful tool. When I write, I have the power to change the story. I am the author of my own story so I can be as creative as I want.
I was born 7 weeks premature, this has lead to some health consequences in my life. My right lung never finished growing and this lead me to be susceptible to severe pneumonia when I was 14 years old. I was hospitalized at Children's Mercy Hospital and incredibly vulnerable. Due to the expert treatment of the highly trained hospital staff that I received, I have now fully recovered. Since then, I do everything I can to stay healthy and keep my body and lungs strong. I have changed my outlook on life, realizing that every second is a blessing and feeling like it is my duty to give my time to the world. That is why I began volunteering at Homeless Centers in Kansas City such as, the World Outreach Foundation and Seton Center. I focused in the medical departments of these centers but I felt like I could never give wholey of myself. I did not have the knowledge. But just blocks away from these centers is KCU, that is why I aspire to attend KCU, it is an institution that provided hope in my mind that I could give
“In the fifth grade, I wrote an essay about why I wanted to be a journalist,” Dr. Greer explains. “My teacher commented on how good I could write and encouraged me to follow my dreams.” Dr. Greer accredits this teacher to having a major impact on her decision to continue upon the pathway towards a journalism
The primary reason I am applying to Molloy College is my desire to earn the education and qualifications in order to provide more involved care for my patients at work. I have known for some time that I have always wanted to be a nurse. Therefore, in April 2007 I enrolled in a program to become a certified nurse’s aide and earned my New York state certification in July 2007. I began working immediately at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in November 2007; I also began working in a hospital starting April 2015. Being employed at both facilities is what led me to fall in love with a career in nursing, all while allowing me to gain a wonderful amount of experience caring for a diverse population as well as working with a diverse population of health care professionals.
Stress is everywhere, one in eight Americans complain about being stressed. Thus, from stress people tend to get anxiety, depression, and feel unhappy with whatever situation is bringing them down. Writing as a form of therapy has been around much longer than we think. A lot of the time when reading poems or short stories we don’t even notice the flow of emotion that is vented through the piece of work. This has been said to be a huge stress reliever, by writing down your thought and feelings people can sit back after read their situation and look at it with a somewhat clear head. In Cangialosi’s article she states “Writing is not only a salve but often a tool that opens our minds and hearts to things that are deep inside us”
Not only am I confident that Rutgers University will fully assist me in reaching my personal enrichment, but I have faith that it will help me to achieve my career goals as well. Throughout the years, the Scarlet Knights have surely made a name for themselves in New Jersey. I have yet to decide on a specific major, but attending Rutgers will allow me to get a taste of the many majors the University has to offer. Benefiting from Rutgers is not the question. The real question is how would one not? A degree from Rutgers has a such a strong value. Not just that, but there is a lot of involved with the school and students.
As these few tales reveal, my memories of writing are strongly connected with the intense emotions I felt as I grew up. They are filled with joy, disappointment, boredom, and pride. I believe that each of these experiences has brought me to where I am today. I can only look to the future and hope that my growth will continue, and my writing will reflect those changes within me. As a writer, I have grown immeasurably and will continue to so long as I can find some paper and a pencil.
Since the beginning of media, some journalists have had the opportunity to pioneer the news and do extraordinary things. Ed Bradley was one of those journalists. He was one of the first African American nationally known TV news broadcasters. During his long almost 40 year career, Bradley was a broadcast journalist for CBS, co-host of 60 minutes, and was the first African American to broadcast the White House. He has won countless awards for his time on television and journalism.

Creative writing is my favorite; I believe it is where my writing is its strongest. I like that there are endless possibilities and that it really allows for my creativity to run wild. A particular creative essay that stands out to me is one from my ninth grade year of high school. I was assigned to write about my favorite childhood fairytale, but to put a twist to it. I wrote about Cinderella, and I totally changed up the original. I
In all of my lifetime, I must say that I am the happiest whenever I am writing an essay. Essays are just one of those things in life that you can’t live without! Honestly, they must be straight from the Lord as a gift to make our lives worth living. I am almost one hundred percent positive in the fact that everyone you talk to will agree with me that without essays in our life, there would be no reason to live! Essays make one’s life exciting and joyful. Even as I am writing this essay, it just makes me think about how I would be wasting my life doing something else! All of the essays ever written in history just help me prove my point that without essays, there would be absolutely no happiness. What would we do if we didn’t have essays to write? Would we just waste our lives spending it with friends having no fun at all? Maybe we would get a job and make money that is unneeded. Whatever your reason for writing essays is, I write mine to have fun, to make my time useful.

When the Smoke Signal representatives came into the classroom and talked about joining Journalism, I wasn’t exactly intrigued by the notion of giving up an AP course to write articles. I didn’t give it a second thought until I was talking to my English teacher Mr. Rath about applying for summer programs. I had to submit a written work to the summer program so I was asking him for a unit test he had collected. He asked me if it was for the Smoke Signal application. I hesitated, caught unawares, but I eventually collected my wits and told him that it wasn’t. However, his comment ran through my mind for the rest of the day. I began thinking more about joining but still didn’t know if I wanted to fill it out on my pre-registration form and sacrifice an AP course. A few days later, I was at a meeting after school about editing Mission TV’s first b...
Those were the words what I proudly wrote on the board of my classroom on my secondary school graduation day. From the day I learnt my ABCs, my passion for English has always been strong. I used to seek attention from others by constantly trying to prove my skills - it was a way of showing my love for the language. However, as I grew up, others’ approval was no longer the most important thing in the world. It is not about me and just me anymore. Now, loving English means spreading the love to all those around.
I enjoy writing very much. My writing topics and style tend to match my eclecticity, though I enjoy the role of an essayist-poet most of all. I have written many instructional articles, though I have lately stayed away from them due to my over-exercise of that area of writing. I enjoy poetry, and while few poets ever put bread on the table and write substantial amounts of poetry, I am not motivated by anything primarily for money and find poetry an expressive way to communicate things that prose is unable to.
