Three weeks after Johnny’s PC tragedy occurred, another small crisis took place in Johnny Jellybean’s life. In his computer class, his teacher, Mr. Barber, had given him an impossible assignment. The assignment really wasn’t that difficult. All he had to do was write about the future of the internet. Unfortunately, the internet was like a different language to Johnny. In his despair he called his only tech savvy friend, Chris Cobalt. Now most people would be annoyed by being called at 3 am on Sunday night, but not Chris. After hearing about Johnny’s minor disaster, Chris was over at Johnny’s house by 3:15 am. “Be quiet!” Johnny warned “my parents are still asleep.” Chris groaned something unintelligent, probably for the first time in his life, and …show more content…
If there was a special-“started Johnny. “They do, you click on your internet explorer browser and type Wikipedia into the search engine.” Chris groaned. “Boom! From there you travel from hyperlink to hyperlink gathering all the information you need.” A slight tinge of annoyance had seeped into his tone. “Well, I don’t have any more ideas. Where do you think the internet will go in the future?” Johnny was mad now. “No one knows the future. If I were to take a guess, I’d say e-commerce is definitely going to expand in the future as well as social media. I don’t know if it’ll be new features or new apps. Perhaps they’ll find new and better ways for people to connect. For certain your uncle Jimmy is going to play a big part in it, seeing as he’s a software developer. He’ll be able to develop programs for computer and mobile devices. Throughout the future uncle Jimmy will be behind the scenes making the money and enjoying his job. The internet is the future.” Chris concluded. There was silence in the room after Chris’ response. Johnny picked up a notebook and pencil and broke the silence saying “that’s great, now can you please repeat everything this time
Every one is scavenging for the next big gadget- the future is a standard that society strives to have in their grasp. However, Joel Achenbach a former humor columnist solves the mystery of the future in his article, “The Future is Now: it’s heading right at us, but we never see it coming” .he presents a sense of urgency describing that the future is not something that society needs to wait for it happens behind closed doors. He argues that the future is a fast pace entity that occurs all around us. Achenbach proves this point by sticking to his humorous style, with the use of witty allusions to Sci-Fi films.

Jonny Nobody is an IT professional. Being an IT professional means that Jonny is well versed in the world of Information Technology. You may be asking yourself, “well what even is Information Technology?!” Well, I’ll tell you. Information Technology is the study of computerized systems used for storing, retrieving, and sending information. One day Johnny was working at his computer, typing away on his keyboard and clicking frantically on his mouse, otherwise known as a peripheral devices. You see, Johnny was running late for a deadline. He had to type a document on his word processor, detailing how much RAM was needed for the new software he was developing. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until he was finished that he realized it all would
The author's point of view was to inform the reader of the technology change and how everyone will be affected by this change in every social aspect. I thought this chapter was helpful because it informed me of the past, and I realize we came a long way as far as technology is concern.
The Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before. The Internet enables communication and transmission of data between computers at different locations. The Internet is a computer application that connects tens of thousands of interconnected computer networks that include 1.7 million host computers around the world. The basis of connecting all these computers together is by the use of ordinary telephone wires. Users are then directly joined to other computer users at there own will for a small connection fee per month. The connection conveniently includes unlimited access to over a million web sites twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. There are many reasons why the Internet is important these reasons include: The net adapts to damage and error, data travels at 2/3 the speed of light on copper and fiber, the internet provides the same functionality to everyone, the net is the fastest growing technology ever, the net promotes freedom of speech, the net is digital, and can correct errors. Connecting to the Internet cost the taxpayer little or nothing, since each node was independent, and had to handle its own financing and its own technical requirements.

The computer evolution has been an amazing one. There have been astonishing achievements in the computer industry, which dates back almost 2000 years. The earliest existence of the computer dates back to the first century, but the electronic computer has only been around for over a half-century. Throughout the last 40 years computers have changed drastically. They have greatly impacted the American lifestyle. A computer can be found in nearly every business and one out of every two households (Hall, 156). Our Society relies critically on computers for almost all of their daily operations and processes. Only once in a lifetime will a new invention like the computer come about.
