“All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach,” Adolf Hitler (The National World War Museum). The German Nazi dictator utilized his power over the people using propaganda, eventually creating a sense of hatred towards Jews. After World War 1, the punishments of the League of Nations caused Germany to suffer. The Nazi party came to blame the Jews in order to have a nation-wide “scapegoat”. This hatred and prejudice towards Jews is known as anti-semitism. According to the Breman Museum, “the Nazi Party was one of the first political movements to take full advantage of mass communications technologies: radio, recorded sound, film, and the printed word” (The Breman Museum). By publishing books, releasing movies and holding campaigns against Jews, antisemitism came to grow quickly, spreading all across Germany. The Nazi Party often referred to the notion of a “People’s Community” where all of Germany was “racially pure” (Issuu). They would show images of ‘pure’, blond workers, labouring to build a new society. This appealed greatly to people who were demoralized during Germany’s defeat in World War 1 and the economic depression of the 1920’s and 1930’s. Hitler, along with Joseph Goebbels, used developed propaganda methods in order to suppress the Jews and spread anti semitism.
Anti-semitism originates back to the Middle Ages, when Christians believed that Jews were responsible for the death of Jesus. They were also accused of the ritual murder of Christian children in what were called blood libels. The main idea of racial anti-semitism was developed and presented by a philosophist named Joseph Arthur de Gobineau, explaining that the Je...

Anti-Semitism, hatred or prejudice of Jews, has tormented the world for a long time, particularly during the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a critical disaster that happened in the early 1940s and will forever be remembered. Also known as the genocide of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, an assassination by the German Nazis lead by Adolf Hitler.

In conclusion, even though the Nazi political party was known for their constant dependence on advertising, throughout the World War II and all history this king of propaganda has been no stranger to any type of government. Its power should never be underestimated since it has the ability to be used as a weapon of political warfare and determine the magnitude of the sovereignty of a particular government, in other words, it can make or break a social movement. “The modern German anti-Semitism was based on racial ideology which stated that the Jews were subhuman while the “Aryan” race was ultimately superior,” ("Nazi Propaganda"): (Goebbels)“I beg you and particularly those of you who carry the cross throughout the land to become somewhat more serious when I speak of the enemy of the German people, namely, the Jew, ("Nazi Propaganda"). “Streicher declared: "You must realize that the Jew wants our people to perish. That is why you must join us and leave those who have brought you nothing but war, inflation, and discord",” ("Nazi Propaganda"). “We know that Germany will be free when the Jew has been excluded from the life of the German people,” ("Ministry Of Public Enlightenment"). Throughout the centuries, there has been a strong and persistent hatred towards Jews. The origins of this loathing have arose from factors such as religious beliefs, economic factors, nationalism, and beliefs about race and biology. One of the most prominent anti-sematic figures in history was Adolf Hitler, who had numerous reasons to detest the Jews. Hitler had a vision that Germany would one day have the perfect race; the Aryan race and that was Hitler’s primary focus.

With Hitler gaining power in the 1930’s, he needed to convince the German people that the Jews were an inferior race. The Nazi’s released copious amounts of propaganda. These advertisements were meant to create gaps in all areas of life between the Germans and the Jews. Much of this Nazi propaganda got collected and published in a book titled “The Eternal Jew” in 1937. I will be using a photograph from page 51 of this book. The picture depicts a Jewish artist looking at one of his sculptures. The opening line of Nazi propaganda is, “In sculpture even more than painting, Jews display their absolute lack of talent.” The Germans want to show that their race has superior artistic talent in comparison to the Jewish race. Thus they start by creating
One piece of Nazi propaganda that really caught my attention was one that said “Who is to blame for the war? The Jew.” There is no evidence behind this statement and this could not be farther from the truth. In case all the posters, movies, and radio stations weren't enough to have all of Europe anti-Jew, germany opened up a jewish exhibition. This exhibition was all about having hatred for the Jews. The Jewish Exhibition attracted an average of five thousand people a day and had a total of four hundred twelve thousand visitors. That is a very large number of citizens who probably felt different about the Jews than they did before going to the exhibition. Jew exhibitions were undoubtedly another factor to the growth of the nazi army and possibly the worst form of propaganda there

According to the American Heritage Dictionary propaganda is defined as “the systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause.” It effectively uses methods aimed to persuade individuals to join a doctrine, a program, a slogan or symbol belonging to a theory, a concept or an organization. It has eventually become part of our lives as everyday we are exposed to it through advertising, mass media, which reach a huge group of people everywhere.
