When I was given the task to write an essay about myself, I panicked thinking “I’ve got to write about myself! I don’t even know what to say!” This thought of mine perfectly proves my personality type; INTP. According to the Keirsey Temperament test, I’m an introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving type of person. These may seem like a couple of broad categories to be in, but they are actually one of sixteen possibilities for a personality. So let’s delve into what exactly an INTP personality is, and subsequently how it can affect how a person lives. “INTPs are philosophical innovators, fascinated by logical analysis, systems, and design.” (Truity.com) Although this statement is an adequate way to describe how an INTP type person thinks, it doesn’t give you the full picture. An INTP is the type of person that …show more content…
A lot of INTPs just love to learn for the fun of it, so just being in classes learning stuff is an optimal option. INTPs tend to want to learn more and therefore care less about their actual grade in a class. Another popular career among INTPs in sciences, and not just any sciences but natural sciences, computer sciences, engineering, and law. There is also a list of careers that INTPs will want to avoid for their best interests. Politics is a great example, and even though many of the United States Presidents were INTP, it can be a stressful and boring job that requires a lot of social and public interaction. Any job that requires speaking or working with others, is a bad job for an INTP personality. A job that would be ideal for an INTP is research and studies because it is easy to do work alone and quietly. Another good job for an INTP is a teacher, although they may be annoyed from time to time by the students, they get to choose what they do in a day, and get a whole summer of free time to themselves to work on projects and
By being an INTP, I have interpreted why some things work in my favor. Being a perceiver allows me to embrace change while keeping any ill-thoughts (regarding changes I do not agree with) to myself. This personality blend, also, allows me to participate in group settings when brainstorming is needed, and having a lower preference in introversion grants me just enough patience to play along with the extroverts to complete the task. When putting two letters together, I have better understood my temperament. “Temperament arises from the regulation of arousal and emotion reliably producing characteristic, habitual responses to experience”, and mine is Intuitive Thinking (NT), so I create many options in my head (Blandin, K., February 2013, para. 4). On the other hand, my personality leads me to situations where I make irrational decisions because I’m not granted enough time to think everything through. As viewed in the presentation, “Lesson 1-Worldview perspective on organizational behavior”, understanding my personality typology, others’ typology, and organizational behavior will allow the workplace to be more efficient because we have a better understanding of ourselves and how we can work together. I’m now able to function in the team because I understand what I offer, how it is useful, and my obligation to the group (Fischer, K. slide
An emerging trend among today’s employers is the increased focus on the personality traits of their employees. Whether that focus is on the ability to hire the right person by predicting job performance, or discovering the right “fit” for an employee in a team, a company’s success may depend on these factors. Creating the right team based for the best success of the team is crucial. However, due to project constraints, abilities, market place, etc, the ability to pair the right individuals may not be available.
Up until Last Tuesday, I did not know what a personality type was, and thought that the Myers-Briggs test only covered IQ. Fortunately for me, Last Tuesday, September 25th, happened. From there, I learned of 16 personality types, consisting of various combinations of letters forming a group. There are two options per “slot”, limiting the amount of combinations in terms of mathematics. But, that’s a good thing, or else the world would be a chaotic place with there being twice as much, or even more personality types. A typical combination of letters would be something like my combination, “ENFJ”, or “Extroverted Intuitive Who Feels with Judgement”. Yes, they are acronyms, sort of. How the Acronym forms depends
The list of IB traits involve terms that a successful student should learn to adapt throughout their school years. Traits such as caring, risk-taker, open-minded, and balanced relate more to one’s personal life than traits like knowledgeable, thinker, reflective, principled, inquirer, and communicator which are more focused on the academic portion of one’s life. Although not everyone will begin the program with all these traits in their pocket, all students should grow and adapt towards new possibilities and a new personality than originally.
The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II identified my temperament as artisan, and the classic temperament report identified me as an ISTP, or Introverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving. The description of my temperament was dead on with my view of myself, especially the more in depth classic temperament. My strengths include an excellent ability to apply logic and reason to solve problems or discover how things work, and being high;y practical and realistic, however I will not function well in regimented or structured environments, as I will become bored or feel stifled. This temperament profile also correlates to my learning style, as the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II results also mention that I learn best hands-on, and states that ISTP’s are a master of their physical environment.
This paper researches the typical traits of the INTJ personality type according to the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator. Additionally, I will be discussing the opposite personality of INTJ, type ESFP. I will detail two past experiences where my INTJ personality posed problems. This paper will also explore strategies that may benefit the INTJ personality type, myself included.
After taking the online personality test I learned that I am an INTJ personality. Consequently, this was not a big surprise for me because I had already taken a similar test in my psychology class and ended up with the same result. I did not learn how accurate the test was the first time since I did not do further analysis on the exact meaning of my personality type. The 16 personality type’s website de...

Type A Personality or Type A Behavior Pattern (TABP) include typical responses of competitiveness, time urgency, and hostility. Type A’s normally strive towards a goal without feeling a sense of joy in their efforts or accomplishments. They also seem to be in a constant struggle against the clock and become impatient with any delays and unproductive time. Type A’s also tend to see the worse in others and display anger, envy and lack of compassion (McLeod, 2017).
My personality type is Extroverted, intuitive, feeling, perceptive or ENFP. According to the description in the exercise, ENFP's are warm, enthusiastic and live their outer life more with intuition and their inner more with feeling. This assessment is consistent with the results that I received in part I of the exercise. I am an extroverted person who enjoys being around and working with people.
I am always getting to class on time and quite in the class. I do not use phone in class neither talk with friends while the teacher is teaching. I always take a long time to do activities and get hard time to make a decision.
According to the assessments my Jungian 16-Type is INTJ. The Prentice Hall’s Self-Assessment Online Library defined INTJ as being “skeptical, critical, independent, determined, and often stubborn” (Judge and Robbins, 2008). Working as a team or group can help me maximize my time at work and help my proficiency. aGood use of a reference-but check the need for a page or paragraph (if an online source) number in direct quotes.
Personality takes many shapes and forms and is affected by many factors. My understanding of personality is simply a genetic and environmentally determined set of psychological traits that influence our reactions in the world around us. Genetic because our parents possess a certain set of psychological personality traits that we tend to have in common with them so therefore in my opinion there are heritable personality traits. Personality is environmental because we each have our own separate experiences in the world and these experiences help form our unique personality. Neo-Freudians such as Jung have given us a wide array of ideas of how they believe personality is developed and formatted. Jung in particular has a very interesting
