Basic facts The Aussiedoodle is an intelligent breed that usually weighs around 25 to 70 pounds, depending on the Poodle’s size used for breeding. Aussiedoodles are a relatively new breed, having become popular around 20 years ago. This breed has a moderate to high energy level, that’s why they would need daily activities to keep them preoccupied and exercised. Aussiedoodles are athletic, agile, and trainable. Despite their high level of energy, they can also be effective therapy dogs as well as indoor pets. Both standard-size and miniature poodles can be used to breed with Australian shepherds. …show more content…
These poodles mostly vary in color combination as well in size. As a result, no two of their pups are the same even if they came from the same litter. Likewise, their weight and size will also vary depending on the Poodle used for breeding. Thus, some Aussiedoodles may have curled fur while others have straight and wiry hair; and come in different coat colors or color combinations such as black, white, red, silver, tan, etc. Nevertheless, it’s not the Aussiedoodle’s size and physical traits that draw people into them; rather, the breed’s intelligence and temperament. Aussiedoodle Personality Aussiedoodles can easily adapt to any environment, plus they are affectionate, loves to have fun, and very much playful. According to DogZone, “From the Aussiedoodle's viewpoint, the presence of children in the home is a major bonus, as this is a very playful and affectionate hybrid that lives for cuddles and games … (They have) virtually no aggressive tendencies, and (are) also usually very accepting of, and gentle with, small pets of any species." Exercise is a must for Aussiedoodles, or they can become hyperactive that can lead to misbehavior. As for their intelligence level, it is said to be comparable to that of a small child, that is why they can be easily trained. In fact, you can even teach them some basic chores such as getting the mail or carrying a basket in their mouths. Sometimes, their genes get into their behavior. For example, Aussiedoodles may have nipping tendencies, which is due to their Australian shepherd heritage. While it should be addressed the soonest as possible, it should not be seen as a negative thing. This is why early socialization and training are important not just in Aussiedoodles but in other dog breeds as well. On a positive note, Aussiedoodles are playful dogs who “likes to bring you gifts”, according to Rover.com. They can be playful not only to humans but also to other dogs. They are also agile enough to jump over fences, so owners should monitor their Aussiedoodles because they have the ability to do that. Aussiedoodles can also inherit an Australian shepherd’s tendency to develop separation anxiety. Basically, they are social dogs because they like being with people and are loyal companions. They are also gentle and sweet dogs who loves cuddles and even sharing a bed with you. Grooming and Health Issues As for breeding an Australian shepherd and a poodle, DogZone said that “matings involve Poodle fathers and Aussie mothers in order to avoid birthing difficulties… Multi-generational breeding is rare, meaning two pedigrees are normally crossed, rather than practicing hybrid-to-hybrid breeding." Aussiedoodles can acquire certain health conditions in connection with their heritage. For one, Australian shepherds are prone to the following health issues: * Hip dysplacia * Cataracts * Epilepsy * Collie eye anomaly * Detached retinas Meanwhile, poodles are prone to: * Hypothyroidism * Blood clotting disorder (Von Willebrand disease) * Bloating * Skin problems and fur loss * Glaucoma * Floating kneecaps Aussiedoodles are generally hypoallergenic and don’t shed that much.
Their coats can either be shaggy and curly, or silky and straight. On the contrary, they are also not low-maintenance and require weekly brushing and washing, and clipping every 2 to 3 months. Is the Aussiedoodle the right dog for you? Before getting an Aussiedoodle as a pet, you must first consider what type of dog you like, and the type of home you have. Aussiedoodles require daily exercises, thus you should always have time for morning or evening walks with your pet. Because they need attention and play, an Aussiedoodle may not be recommended for individuals who are constantly out of home for work. While they also shed less, grooming efforts should also be considered due to the coats they have. These dogs may not be ideal for apartment living, as they can bark (although not too much), but it can definitely bother your next-door neighbors. Likewise, apartments usually have smaller spaces which cannot be conducive for Aussiedoodles to play and run around. In addition, potty duties may be a challenge especially among apartment dwellers, that is why a home with a nice outdoors is
preferred. Nevertheless, everything is possible as long as you are willing to make some adjustments for the sake of your Aussiedoodle. After all, Aussiedoodles and all animals deserve the attention, care, and love from us humans.

Australia Day, celebrated on the 26th of January every year, is a nationally recognised day that signifies the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet. It’s a historic event that also marks the beginning of the oppression of the Indigenous people, that still can occur today, no matter how much the Government has tried to atone for the sins of the past. Australia Day is a day of celebration and mourning, a fact that contributes to the constant bickering between the Indigenous and non-Indigenous. There are many who believe that the meaning behind the modern Australia Day is overshadowed by the past, which will prevent the nation from moving forward, much like Ben Roberts-Smith who published an opinion piece in the Herald Sun on the 26th

Most seventeen year olds participate in a winter sport, myself included. Most started participating in their sport when they’re young, myself included. Most seventeen year old’s sport doesn’t take them to competitions in Main, Quebec, or Alaska, but mine did and still does. I race sled dogs. My parents met at a dog race in Chugiak, Alaska, a suburb of Anchorage. I’ve grown up playing with puppies, helping my parents to the start line, and racing my own team. I would go to my parent-teacher conference every year in elementary school and listen to my mom explain that we would be going to Alaska for two and a half months, and that I would need my work before we left. We experienced different reactions every year. For example, my second grade teacher exclaimed “So are you running the Iditarod? That’s so cool!” This reaction is common. Most people don’t know how the sport of dog racing works. Most people think a sled dog is a fluffy dog that logs hundreds of miles because their heartless owners forcing them to, but unfortunately this stereotype
Since a landlord is unable to refuse a house or apartment to someone with an assistance dog, and they are allowed everywhere, it is less likely for them to become an inconvenience. In conclusion, adopting a dog can be more difficult than anyone plans. They require a lot of attention and affection. They can cause an issue when trying to rent an apartment or home, and can cost more than expected. All dogs have great perks to them, but for some people, the responsibility can be too much.
Audience Connection: Here in Chico, pit bull breeds are extremely popular and seem to be a favored dog. However, most apartments don’t allow any type of pit bull, making it difficult to find housing. Apartment hunting is stressful for everyone and owning a certain breed can make it nearly impossible.
