Have you ever went on a one-way road and someone is driving slow as a turtle and you are calling them names and words. There are many people who get pissed off because one-way roads are just dumb and stupid to have in a city like Powdersville. According to Suburban Stats, Powdersville is home to 7,618 people and that’s a big number of population in just a little town. You can’t even call Powdersville a town anymore because the population here is like a city. Do you ever go on a one-way road and there is a big line of cars and you wonder, why is there a huge line of cars on this road? Then as the lines get shorter you can tell that it was someone taking a left turn. This pisses me off some much, it’s not the driver’s fault but it’s the states fault to have a one-way road in a town that has 7,618 people living in just area of 14 mi². Let me tell you a …show more content…
One-way roads are dangerous because people always speed on one-way roads. It’s not entirely the people’s fault because the speed limit posted on the side of the road is very slow for the people, but the state can not do anything about the speed limit because one-way roads are not designed for people to travel fast on them. Once I was crossing a two-way road and it seemed hundred times easier than crossing a one-way road because first I safely crossed the left side and then stood in the middle of the road and waited for the traffic to clear up, then finally I crossed the right side of the road. This took me such little time because the traffic on the road was all spread out and there weren’t lines and lines of cars, where you have to wait like ten minutes just to cross a single road. I can’t tell you how many times I have been almost hit by a car trying to cross a one-way road, this happens because people on one-way roads typically
“Have you ever noticed how anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and everyone going faster than you is a maniac?” George Carlin once, jokingly asked. However, this is not the case for drivers on the famous highway systems in Germany. When you drive in Germany you can be “idiot” in the government’s eyes if you go too slowly, drive in the wrong lane or impede the flow of traffic. This distinction is not unique in Germany but is applicable to their federal highway system, aptly named the Autobahn.
With the introduction of the automobile in the early 1900s, laws have been instituted to protect drivers on the road. With these laws come lawbreakers who put their agenda in front of the well being of others. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost. billions of dollars have been spent, and pollution has grown exponentially because of this. drivers travelling at high speeds on roads (Hartman).
The argument that Forestville should reverse a decision it made six months ago to raise its speed limit by 10MPH due to a 15% rise in accidents because accidents in Elmsford, a neighboring region, declined slightly, is inconclusive. A base line study of traffic pattern disruptions and speed variances in Forestville and Elmsford comparing demographic data, location, rate, and type of accidents for more than six months might determine significant risk factors. Federal studies suggest that accidents rise if speed limits are raised on highways by as much as 5% for each 4 MPH but on moderate speed limit roads, no such relationship exists. Other studies show accidents decrease with a rise in speed limit since artificially low limits also cause accidents.
Timmy was struck at the news. How could he have not made competitive? He had practiced so hard. Throughout practice and until the first game, Timmy was pretty much a downer. He wished that he had never signed up for the tournament.
Through most of my time in high school, I always found myself writing more of exploratory writing for two simple reasons; it took a shorter amount of time, and relating writing to my personal experiences was something I had no need to look up. Exploratory writing is a time to take advantage to relate your own personal experiences and an attempt to make a connection with a certain reading. The experiences you have will not be exactly the same as you’re classmate and might be very enjoyable to read. Lamott and Hairston both use explanatory and exploratory writing in their essays by explaining the techniques of what good writers do and applying their own personal experiences. By applying both explanatory and exploratory in their essay they are able to provide the reader with new ideas they can adopt to improve their writing skills.
Head to head hits are still a prevalent issue in the Nfl. Should head to head hits lead to an ejection from the game? If a player in college football commits an intentional helmet to helmet hit, the penalty is an ejection. If college football can input this penalty, couldn’t the NFL? We see that former football players who suffered many concussions over their playing careers, have long lasting effects. Some current players feel as though that they can’t control where their hits land and injuries are just a part of the game. Some fans feel as though all these penalties are taking the fun away the game. Former NFL players are an example of what helmet to helmet hits can do.
Segregation in educational institutions taking place in the United States is not often talked about. People may consider apartheid schooling taking place presently to a nation that does not respect basic human rights. Thus, the injustices taking place in public schools are not easily classified because it is commonplace to many. It can be argued that apartheid schooling was never completely dismantled in the United States. Jonathan Kozol’s book The Shame of the Nation (2005) provides evidence and insight to apartheid within the educational system that children are currently experiencing. The structure in children’s curriculum, the way they are spoken to as well as the funding public schools are funded are examples to the inequalities that children face. Conceptually, structural violence is what keeps educational injustices to recur.
You are a driving thought the neighborhood on your way back home from work, when you reach a stop sign, so you naturally stop, however the car behind you doesn't quite stop and keeps going full speed towards you and inevitably crashes into you, ruining your car as well as setting you back in money not only for the car but from your insurance company as your rate will go up. This is the reality of today's road as many drivers whether new or old have picked up dangerous driving habits.
A topic that I get so engaged to that makes me lose track of time is talking about The Flash. Just so you aren’t lost while reading my essay, The Flash is a tv show that is very inspiring for a lot of people including myself. This show has a lot of life skills and obstacles you might face when you’re on your own in the real world. The main idea of the show is how a young man loses his mother when he is young boy and his father is wrongly accused of her murder. One day Barry Allen is working in his CSI lab and is struck by a lightning bolt from a particle accelerator and he is in a coma for nine months but when he wakes up he has super speed.
These days, cars are necessary for everyday living. They take us where we need to go. They are the method of transportation for everyday traveling. Road rage is an increasing problem in America. Incidents of violent driving have been rising for many years now. Many people identify themselves by the car they drive, because of this; road rage is only increased. Potential problems should try to be avoided.
It starts with just a moment of tailgating, or maybe the guy in front of you cut you off or wouldn’t let you into the fast lane. In some cases it appears that incidents of road rage are caused by simple misunderstandings between drivers. A driver may make a momentary error of judgment but the perception of another driver is that he or she is driving aggressively. Then suddenly it turns into World War III on the highway. It matters little what causes it; a bad day at the office, a love affair going bad, credit cards maxed to the credit limit. All it takes is a sudden movement of someone else’s wheels, and within seconds a normally mild mannered motorist is consumed with a red-eyed, mouth-foaming surge of anger that grabs more of us every day. Road Rage, something that has always simmered on the back burner of motoring America, is now going off like fireworks.
There are some roads in small towns that are in abysmal conditions. It is ironic that bad roads are a big complaint in those towns, and the complainers are a cause for roads not being improved over
• Please submit a concise essay (200 word limit) that clearly describes a challenging life event and how you approached it. After several attempts to conceive, I finally became pregnant in January 2015. The first months felt like a fairy tale to me. I could not stop dreaming about what my baby would look like.
It is something everyone wants, not many have, and few want to give. Most people would appreciate "just a little bit," and most should give just that. Unfortunately, a lot of the time, this does not happen. Perhaps this is because the concept of respect is not understood. What exactly is respect? The dictionary defines it as an act of giving particular attention or high or special regard. This does not explain what it is; it only outlines what it may be. In general, though, respect can be broken down into three main forms.
“The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers” -Dave Barry, comedian. The number of accidents over the last ten years have drastically increased, drivers are paying less attention to the road itself. Many individuals behind the wheel of a car believe that their driving does not affect the road conditions, however it always will. The driving habits of today are catastrophic due to the reasoning that the driving will affect other lives through reckless or distracted driving, and disobeying traffic laws.
