WWE is undeniably best soap opera, or sports entertainment, in the world. With fast-paced fights between hulking, agile, and powerful beasts, as well as beautiful women, it’s no surprise that everyone who has seen one of its shows has immediately been hooked. Though you’re not supposed to try it at home, you can PLAY it at home and for free, thanks to WWE: Champions, a free-to-play mobile game featuring WWE superstars today and in the time gone by. However, it’s not your usual wrestling game. Instead of directly controlling your wrestler, you’re playing a puzzle underneath the screen which shows them fighting. It might be a major letdown to everyone looking for a standard wrestling game, but don’t tap out yet: you might get hooked on to it and be trapped like you’re inside a steel cage! …show more content…
Currently, it has a number of current superstars, as well as highly respected legends of the “sport”. It has favorites like John Cena, The Rock, The Undertaker, and the Big Show. As for the legends roster, guys like Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, and The Ultimate Warrior. With that said, it would have been great if the game featured up-and-comers, but the current roster is sufficient and would treat any wrestling fan. After all, these guys are some of the most popular entertainers to have ever stepped on the squared circle. As for the presentation, the in-match graphics are pretty decent, while the same can be said about the puzzles. The music, crowd noise, and commentary are present, and are enough to give you an immersive experience. However, the wrestler details certainly need a a few improvements. The most notable flaw would be them looking cartoonish and everybody seems to be on steroids. For example, Andre the Giant looks more like a bodybuilder, but in real life, he is pleasantly plump, and the same can be said with big
Vince McMahon’s WWF is a multi-million dollar corporation and has been wildly successful in capturing the sports entertainment market. “Monday Night Raw,” the weekly soap opera on TNN, is one of the three most watched cable shows each week. In addition, the WWF has weekly wrestling shows on UPN and MTV. Personally, I am caught up in the phenomenon. I set aside my Monday evenings to watch Monday Night Football and professional wrestling. I enjoy attempting to figure out the storylines before they unfold and attempt to guess the action that may happen in the next segment.
Today I am taking a break from the series of articles I usually write, to bring you a subject I have thought about for a long time. I only started paying attention to wrestling in my teen years, so the "Attitude Era" was what I considered wrestling. I won't go into what made the era special, because that would be insulting to your intelligence, everyone knows what made the era successful, and why some fans still pine for it. Needless to say, it was "cool", it suited the times, and it broke the mold formed over the previous decades.
Ultimate Brawl is known to be a very lengthy show lasting about four hours long. This year’s line up consisted of sixteen competition teams and thirteen exhibition teams. When watching a performance, besides focusing on the execution and expression of the movement, my eyes were usually drawn to the performer’s face because that is what entertains me mo...
It took the death of superstars to make the company realize the importance of their superstar's health. World Wrestling Entertainment made drug testing official in 2005 when a superstar by the name of Eddie Guerrero Passed away. The author states "After one of professional wrestling`s biggest star died, World Wrestling Entertainment said it would start random testing for drugs, steroids and prescription drug abuse by its performers"(Wrestling With Drug…).The company began to get serious with their performers by starting new rules and regulations. The company believes drug testing performers will help decrease the amount of drug usage and deaths within the industry.
However, the mainstream media continually refuses to recognize professional wrestling for its true entertainment value and in the process, marks the very business that we so vehemently suppor...
Punk music is usually defined by power chords, raw vocals and high energy performance. Punk rock is the best music ever created. It is, in short, a thinking man’s rock music. And to some, it’s like God himself ordained punk rock as His preferred music of choice. Why? Because it’s just that good. Hundreds of faithful teens and twenty-something adults pack themselves into basements shows like sardines in a tin, just to have their holy gospel delivered to them by guys with names like “Johnny Rotten,” “Justin Sane” or “Davey Havok.” Punk rock is the best musical style for numerous reasons. The reasons might seem simple, but the difference between punk and mainstream music is that punk is just better. It’s clever, thoughtful and passionate. On the other hand, Brittany Spears and the rest of the MTV pop brigade are just dull, witless morons trying to see who can be the biggest whore on television.
Fireworks as if it were the fourth of July. Thousands of people in an arena and billions watching around the world anxiously awaiting the arrival of their favorite superstar. Suddenly the crowd erupts as a man comes strutting down to the squared circle. Accompanied by a beautiful busty young woman, the wrestler is cheered by his loyal fans and booed by his enemies. Soon , another man enters the stadium the same way as the first man. The two men stip into the ring with a certain sense of cockiness about themselves. Before the referee can even tell everyone that the match has started, the two men are already battling in the “squared circle';. During the fight there are many suspenseful moments. Brutally beating each other for five minutes the match is finally over with some bloodshed. Today people are taking wwf professional wrestling to the extreme. WWF wrestling is one of the most watched shows on television today. WWF stands for the World Wrestling Federation. Wrestling started sometime it the mid to late sixties and has changed dramatically over the years. When wrestling first came to be the wrestlers weren’t like they were today. Back in the olden days of WWF wrestling, the storyline of wrestling wasn’t as vulgar, and the industry was not as wide spread throughout the world. Today the whole industry of the WWF is benefitting from merchandise being sold all over the globe. Even though many people may consider wrestling to be fake, know that some aspects are very real.
This memo is to address the current conversation regarding the possible termination of the sport of wrestling in the upcoming Olympic Games. By examining the significant history of wrestling in the Olympics we can comprehend why so many people are passionate about the sport. Wrestling, being a non-revenue sport, does not have the same financial benefits as professional sports. Regardless, the sport still has a substantial fan base and should be continued.
During a wrestling match, you are using all of your previous knowledge of the moves you have been practicing over and over. On top of that you need to have the mental mind set that you are gonna win. You may think it is easy because it's only a six minute match, but all the blood, sweat and tears that us wrestlers put in for those six minutes, may be the happiest or saddest experience of our life. We spend hours a day working with our coaches to make sure our technique is close to perfection as it can get. Most likely, you will win or lose a match on how well conditioned you are. We will usually wrestle a twelve minute match in practice, so that six minute match feels like nothing. Even with the time and effort you put in this sport, they will always be someone who might be just a little better.
It is rather, a fight. A fight in which each combatant must push their-self to
*Click* *Clack* *Clack.* The sound of controllers fills my ears. The only expression I could see on every player’s face was determination. The desire to prove themselves burned brightly. I turn to meet the box of color that displayed the game I love to play. I thought to myself, “Did I practice enough? How should I play this out? I absolutely have to win!” As these thoughts raced through my mind, I give my opponent a good luck, and press start. “3, 2, 1, Go!” Suddenly, the fictional characters displayed come to life and all of my concentration switches to this game. Determination takes control over me, and the only word I can think of is “Win.” Gaming is a passion that I have had ever since I was young. The competitiveness of it is what
The Steelers were founded by Arthur J. Rooney on July 8, 1933. The Steelers are the 7th oldest team in the NFL. They also have won 6 super bowls which is the most out of all the other NFL teams. In 1970 is when the Steelers started one of the greatest streaks ever! They earned 8 consecutive playoff berths. The Steelers have one superbowls back to back twice the only team to ever do that! The list of Pittsburgh Steelers heroes of the 1970s is long but it begins with Head Coach Chuck Noll who took control of the team in 1969. Amazing players such as defensive tackle Joe Greene, linebackers Jack Ham and Jack Lambert, quarterback Terry Bradshaw, cornerback Mel Blount and running back Franco Harris were the backbone of a team that many insist was the finest ever in pro football. Noll later on became a pro hall of famer. Following the 2006 season, Cowher resigned and was replaced by Mike Tomlin, who in his second season led the team to victory in Super Bowl XLIII. The win marked their sixth championship in franchise history as the Steelers became the first team to win six Super Bowls.
When I was first contacted to begin writing for this site I really wasn't sure what to think. I'm not a professional writer by any means, I just happen to take pro wrestling very seriously. (Yes,I know that it's fixed.) I can't promise that this blog series won't be a little biased or crazy, my plan really is to just write about my feelings on the current product and what; in my opinion, can be done to improve it. So without anymore delay's I give you your first look into the mind of a person who takes pro-wrestling a little more seriously than they should.
When I was a Freshman, I was curious about the sport of Wrestling. When I tried out for it, I was eager to learn more about it.
