When a person walks into a building to see a live wrestling event they do not know what to expect. They wonder who will be wrestling. They wonder where their seats are. All of the suspense gets them ready for the show. The suspense gets them pumped and ready to for the show to start.
In the lobby they see many people standing around or buying T-shirts, hats, and other paraphanaliea of their favorite wrestling superstar. There is a smell of popcorn and other snacks in the air. It is very noisy from people talking about who they hope is there.
When the people try to find their seats it can be frustrating because it is dark and they do not know the layout of the arena. Once they end up finding their seats there are normally people sitting in them or they are in the wrong one and have to move.
When they see the wrestlers they are so much bigger than they thought. The wrestlers have big and powerful wrestlers. They are always in top condition. The smaller wrestlers still have muscles but they are not as powerful as the bigger ones. The smaller wrestlers rely on their speed to win their matches.
During the event there is a smell of smoke in the air from the fireworks that had gone off. There is a general noise throughout the building that gets louder as the wrestlers do a special move or look to the crowd. When a wrestler enters the ring the only thing that you can hear is the first part of their theme song because as soon as the crowd knows who it is they either cheer or boo. The sound of the wrestlers being slammed against the mat is very loud. When a wrestler does his final move you can hear the crowd burst into pandemonium as they all stand and cheer or boo, it all depends on who the wrestler is.
The main event is the best. That is where you get to see your favorite most of the time.
Vince McMahon’s WWF is a multi-million dollar corporation and has been wildly successful in capturing the sports entertainment market. “Monday Night Raw,” the weekly soap opera on TNN, is one of the three most watched cable shows each week. In addition, the WWF has weekly wrestling shows on UPN and MTV. Personally, I am caught up in the phenomenon. I set aside my Monday evenings to watch Monday Night Football and professional wrestling. I enjoy attempting to figure out the storylines before they unfold and attempt to guess the action that may happen in the next segment.
To begin the description of my experience, I arrived at the arena shortly before the
A long time ago, back in the olden days, Bruno Sammartino was a superhero who sold out Madison Square Garden countless times. Back in those times, wrestling strictly adhered to kayfabe, so many of the fans believed
It took a while to get in because the line was extremely long but the fans screaming and yelling. The music was playing while the players were warming up. They
I have many things that I love in this life, one of those things is wrestling. I have been wrestling for seven years and I have developed quite the passion and love for it. Wrestling has always been an interesting sport for me. Growing up in Oregon I watched my uncles wrestle in high school. I watched both of them win their state tournament in their respective weight classes, this is one of my fondest memories of my childhood. One of them went on to wrestle division one, I thought this was the coolest thing in the world. I looked up to my uncles and wanted to be just like them. I did not always wrestle though. The process of pursing my dream as of becoming a wrestler started of with basketball, then went to a rocky start, then being on Worland High School wrestling team.
What event brings a crowd to a mega sized event that roars louder than a concert? How this phenomena became one of the most popular sports that involves numerous amount of physicality? To answer both questions only requires two words.
Professional wrestling is, and will always be, one the premier social, entertaining spectacles in our society. The masked-luchadore, the 500 pound hairball, even the beautiful valets at ringside. The glitz, the glamour, and the spotlight. Every man that steps in the ring knows their duty; to perform in front of capacity crowds while enveloping each fan in the stands with a passion and characteristic of self-worth. The reassurance that even in a world where entropy seems destined to live, the good shall always prevail. The actors and playwrights in the drama explode through the camera using various different techniques or styles, which present each as having a "unique" quality to them. These artistic styles can be classified into one of the following categories: Technical, Lucha Libre or High-Flying, and Ground Grappling.
The crowd roars with a deafening volume that could awaken the dead from their eternal slumber. He explodes through the doors, the crowd's cheers raise to an even higher decibel, as he sprits up to the ring it appears the only thing running through his veins is pure adrenaline, his muscles bulge as he slides into the ring. He rises to he feet, the crowd is still ecstatic, as he lifts his extended middle finger into the air as he screams, "Give me a HELL YEAH!", and the crowd, including people from all walks of life, answers back, "HELL YEAH!" He once held the Heavy Weight Champion belt of the World Wrestling Federation, making him number one, and he believes, and gets his fans to believe, he is still number one. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is a prime candidate for the nomination of a modern day Anglo-Saxon hero. "Stone Cold's" immense physical strength, his courage, and his loyalty would have any Anglo-Saxon by his side.
CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, echoes through my head as I walk to the middle of the mat. "At 160lbs Aidan Conner of La Junta vs. Rodney Jones of Hotchkiss." All I can think of is every bead of sweat, every drip of blood, every mile, every push up, every tear. Why? All of this: just to be victorious. All in preparation for one match, six minutes. For some these six minutes may only be a glimpse, and then again for some it may be the biggest six minutes of their life. Many get the chance to experience it more than once. Some may work harder and want it more than others, but they may never get the chance. All they get is a moral victory. Every kid, every man comes into the tournament with a goal. For some is to win, for some is to place, others are just happy to qualify. These six minutes come on a cold frigid night in February at a place called the Pepsi Center. Once a year this gathering takes place when the small and the large, the best of the best, come to compete in front thousands of people. I am at the Colorado State Wrestling Championships.
Bryan Perez, AEG president of digital ticketing and media, states waiting rooms “ensure more fans get fair access to every seat in the house.” (Peoples) With greater profits available, the artists can share in the benefits. United States Title. John Cena Vs The Big Show|C|. Cena gets a HUGE pop. Entertaining antics from Cena at the start. Crowd is into it, but I couldn't due to all the boredom it was providing. I like both of these guys, but they just don't mix well. Cena wins by ,hitting the Attitude Adjustment.
Walking into the arena and you are instantly greeted by metal detectors. Your pockets must be emptied, to make sure that you are not carrying any sort of deadly weapons with you to the arena. This is purely a safety precautionary to ensure the safety of everyone attending the game.
Both events you can feel the crowd’s passion and how they cheer on their local drivers. Some moments you have goosebumps all over your
Standing here, in this arena that is one hundred times larger than my home, I feel like a needle in a haystack. So many people surrounding me it’s like I’m one grain of sand in a whole ocean. The people around the arena form a black and yellow checker board. Their clothing meshes together and looks like a throw. Smelling the concession stand makes me feel like a starving child. The aroma of hotdogs and Italian sausage reminds me of a back yard grill. The smell of melted cheese on nachos makes my stomach growl wishing I had some. I can taste the pretzels as a man and child walk by me with one. The warm bread with coarse salt is delicious.
After 15 minutes people were starting to get frustrated because nothing was happening. It is a good thing. Suddenly there was activity onstage and the lights dimmed. the first support band, Slam Cartel, came on. The mosh pit went wild.
