What does it mean for your professional work to cover ERC 2017? First of all, it takes more time than expected. Nico always told me he has to work until late night to send all the pictures to the magazines and customers. Of course, the Azores with the unique gravel roads, the fantastic “Sete Cidades” Stage on the volcano crater and the rain forest. The landscape is special all over Europe. Also, the weather is very special there. On one side, you have fog and rain and five kilometers later you have blue sky and no Clouds at all. Canary is completely different. Some moments you have goosebumps all over your
In theory, political campaigns are the most important culmination of the democratic debate in American politics. In practice, however, the media shrouds society’s ability to engage in a democratic debate with unenlightening campaign coverage. Because of this, it is difficult—if not impossible—to have educated political discourse in which the whole, factual truth is on display. After years of only seeing the drama of presidential campaigns, the American public has become a misinformed people.
The American horse racing industry has been admired by generations upon generations. Although it is a very cherished sport, like any other sport, there are many issues involved. The major issue that I find is that many owners make the decision to breed when there are other solutions. The Jockey Club, also known as the head council for the American Horse Racing Industry, should be addressing the major issue of overbreeding in the American horse racing industry.
In the latest years, greyhound racing has gained negative media attention, whereas in 2015 the abc four corners revealed that several owners and trainers were using live baits as a training form for the dog to gain a competitive advantage (Hanna, & Clark, 2015). Another issue concerning the sustainability of the industry is the mass greyhound killings because they were considered too slow (Hanrahan, 2016). Due to all the issues concerning the industry, New South Wales were set to ban Greyhound racing in 2016. Nevertheless, the ban got overturned due to political populism and the economic benefits and the numerous livings the sport provides for. The government now searches for other solutions to make the industry more sustainable. Still, frustrated

Have you ever been to a horse race? Seeing the riders give their horses a pat and an apple after the race, people cheering for their horse as it runs rapidly to the finish line? Seems like a great time. But what happens to those horses after they are done their race. What happens to the people who gambled their family’s lives savings. All horse racing should be shut down due to the well being of the horses, the effects of gambling, and the lack of interest.
Even though tensions rise between the ethics in sport and the ideas of winning, families identify accomplishment in the bond between hobbies and the good life, as horse racing is a favorite past-time. Although desiring to win compromises the conduct and character of the owner, trainers, jockeys, and horses, many fans remain uptight toward betting on cheaters while taking them at face-value. While articles, periodicals, and congressional hearing testimonies about the sports culture of horse racing feature opposing strands of greed and reveal the binary just/unjust, the more interesting ideas come from the differences in the tone of voice, which show a pattern of irony in economic views of racing and frustration in social aspects of abuse. For example, the issues are significant to evaluate because some sources argue neglect or ill-treatment while others are following the rules; however, positive tests for illegal drugs in horses remain an ongoing wager. Additionally, as horses play a significant role in American culture today, tension gives rise to various power struggles, ethical dilemmas, and multiple controversies involving social and political agendas, which complicates regulations on the rules of racing. Even though Sheila Lyons, DVM testifies, "Racehorse is not a diagnosis," before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Interstate Horse Racing Act, Dr. Lyon believes, “proper record keeping should take place at the tracks” (Kane, Lyons, and Gagliano). A 2015 report by The Editorial Board from The New York Times suggests, "…the fatality rate for horses reaches more than four times the national average as heedless owners put unproven horses at risk for lucrative purses," as the more striking compari...
Animals that compete in rodeos are being forced to display “wild behaviors for the entertainment of the audience. At the end of a rodeo, most animals end up with broken ribs, backs, legs; punctured lungs; deep internal organ bruising; hemorrhaging; ripped tendons; torn ligaments and muscles, or snapped necks. A lot of the time an animal has to lay in agonizing pain until it dies because the cowboys forget about it until the end of the rodeo. Some of the animals have to be euthanized, while some are sent to slaughterhouses to be slaughtered. Animals that compete in every event in a rodeo can become undependable if they are taken care of properly after an event.
Equestrian Riding, also known as horseback riding is a sport. Some people may argue that is not because they think the horse is doing all of the work. However that is not true.
