For this purpose, one should have to separate and categorize his all activities according to their importance. It is more suitable to handle less important tasks intermittently in order to compete the major tasks. It is not suitable to just switch from one big tasks to another. Such smaller tasks needed a little more intentions and thoughts so that they do not reconsider again in next turn (Whetten, 1995). For most important tasks, suggestion is to do them in your best time. The reason for this is quite clear. This is because most important tasks require more energy and the less important tasks require less energy or to finish the intended goals. It is the only thing that makes effective time management tough because individuals should be able to differentiate the tasks and spend their time on important stuff that they face every day. Time allocation, or time management, is a trait that everyone is capable of. However, there are people who tend to manage their time better than others. People often find themselves wasting time on unimportant activities. The time wasted can depend on the type of person they are, though. Say there is a successful businessman. That man is less likely to waste his time doing something unimportant than a teenager who doesn’t have their priorities straight. In the story, ‘Contents of the Dead Man’s Pocket”, Tom Benecke struggles with balancing the time spent on his work and time spent with his wife. In our generation, technology is all around us. Whether it be phones, computers, or video games, people are wasting away their lives doing activities
For example, organizing my calendar where I have the time blocked out when I am in class, driving, the hours I will be studying, the time that I will spend getting Avery ready for bed and her school work done, etc. by having this all planned out in such detail maybe this will help me stay on track for efficient time management. Also, logging my time and keeping track of where I spend my time can also help me see where I can spend more time doing something more productive. (Chapman,2008) Setting priorities and learning to focus not only what is urgent and important but also activities that are important but might not be urgent, like Avery’s gymnastics or her 4H club meetings. Making a “to do list” would be helpful in helping me remember what needs to be done and what I would like to get done and finding time in my organized calendar to do so. (Chapman, 2008) Also, I should try to avoid multi- tasking, I am a mother which means I am a great multi tasker, I can cook dinner, do laundry, and give a bath all at the same time, although sometime the dinner gets a little burnt. But according to Chapman, multi-tasking is actually not a time saver but rather you lose time when you switch to different tasks. Trying to stick to one task at a time may be helpful in learning more effective time management skills. All of
The importance of being on time in the military (or anywhere at all), is simply a symptom of discipline, which was instilled in new enlisted soldiers during basic training. Being on time shows reliability. We have to show discipline, responsibility, show care through following military rules and regulations. Being on time not only pertains to accountability, but shows respect to our fellow soldiers, our unit, command and organization as a whole. Being on time also will avoid any disciplinary actions that may hinder you from reaching your goals. Being on time may have a greater importance and effect, than we may know. Being on time enables us to be able to trust and rely on each other in life and death situations. Last but not least, it shows that we will be able and ready to capitalize on our capabilities to complete our missions. It is not acceptable to be late (except when involving safety limitations), because missions and operations are interlocking pieces that must function together as a whole in order for it to work in a timely manner. All successful and respective people all have one common attribute, and this is knowing and exhibiting the importance of being on time.
Prioritizing time is critical due to ways of learning and levels of energy. When studying, get in the habit of beginning with the most difficult subject or task. You will be fresh, and have more energy to take them on when you are at your best. For more difficult courses of study, try to be flexible: for example, build in reaction time when you can get feedback on assignments before they are due (“Time Management” n.d.).

Keeping track of time is a very important but common skill among people. Though it is common, it is not always easy to do, or the means to do it are unavailable. Over the years I have learned to keep track of time in three different ways, sight, my body, and various timekeeping devices. Two of my three ways are not as accurate, but in times where total accuracy is not as important they are very effective and efficient. Because I use sight the most and I value it the most I am going to begin with that.
