Environmental mastery is the intellect that we are able to have an impact on the events in our lives and are capable of acting on our own behalf. Environmental mastery is associated with the individual's ability to choose or create environments suitable to his or her psychic conditions. Maturity is seen to require participation in a significant sphere of activity. Life span development is also described as requiring the ability to manipulate and control complex surroundings.
