Everybody has things and people he or she is thankful for in their life. Some may have a special thing that they are appreciative of, such as an activity or object that completes them. Others may have that one friend or family member who they can count on for anything, anytime they need it. I am no exception, and I am thankful for many things and people everyday. However, one thing I am most grateful for is my siblings, my sister and my two brothers. Being that I have three siblings, I know exactly what it is like to live in a noisy house where the place everyone wants to go for dinner can never be decided on. However, while things are crazy one hundred percent of the time, I am thankful for that and I wouldn’t want it any other way. To start, …show more content…
One thing is for sure and that is that I am never bored at home and while sharing my parents’ attention with them all can be difficult at times, I wouldn’t ask for anything different. Moreover, I am thankful that my sister is so close in age to me and that we can take selfies with each other when we both feel good that day, talk about the Netflix series we are watching together, or even rant to each other about how our day went when we are brushing our teeth at night. There is certainly no one else I would rather share a bathroom with or have be my best friend forever. Likewise, my older brother and my younger brother are both very close in age to me as well, which only makes our bond stronger. While I do fight with both of them more often than not, in the end our fights are always resolved and we always have fun together. From playing my brothers in FIFA on the wii to riding our hoverboards around the house to cheering on Michigan, the Giants, the Yankees, and the Devils together, life with them is never a bore. No matter what we are doing together my siblings and I always have a wonderful
It seems that every sibling doesn’t always have a great relationship with their older or younger siblings. In the movie “Real Women Have Curves”, we have two sisters, Anna and Estella, who seem not to get along in the beginning because of their differences, but at the end they become the best of friends because they have similar dreams and learn to support each other. The advantage of Anna and Estella’s relationship is that they benefit from each other. The whole story is that you don’t always realize how much you have in common with your siblings until you realize that you have similar dreams and can be there for each other.
In this brief authors Epstein, Griffin and Botvin, (2008), Maintains that young sibling play an important role in shaping their environment. During an individual’s early childhood, attitudes and behavior is developed. However, the author believes that older sibling plays an important role in creating family standards and structure throughout the lifespan (Epstein, Griffin, & Botvin, 2008).
“It’s up to you to make your life. Take what you have and stack it up like a tower of teetering blocks. Build your dream around that.” – Cheryl Strayed
I have three siblings along with three nephews. I have a younger sister, older sister, and one older brother. My older sister is the one that had my nephews. We all lived under the same roof until I moved out for college. My mother was more like my father in the house because my father was away working for us, and even though my siblings are her children, it seems that they 're her siblings too. It felt that I was the parent of my nephews and little sister because of the way I had to care for them because everyone else was working. I connect with my immediate family firmly. We always look out for each other because we mean so much to one another. I
A few things I am thankful for are my grandparents, my faith, and my friends and family. One thing I am very thankful for is my absolutely
Who is someone you are thankful to have in your life and why are you thankful for them? One of the people in my life that I am thankful for is my dad. He is thoughtful, kind, and caring. I can honestly say that I'm pretty happy with the person I am and where I am today. I have been through a lot and have struggled with mental illness including, anxiety and depression for years now. I am still working on coping with these illnesses and ignoring the inner voices, believe me it's been really tough, but everyday that passes is a day I get stronger, and for that I couldn't be happier. Through all of this I not only learned a lot about myself but I found who my true friends were. Everyday I'm thankful to everyone who has helped me achieve my goals and be there to reassure me that I got this and everything was going to be okay, things were going to get better.
They’re always there to love me, push me to new levels, and spend time together. Whenever I’m with my family, even if we are teasing and being sarcastic with each other, there's no denying the underlying feeling of absolute love. I especially am thankful of how well I get along with my sister. We need rough house or have rivalries and if we do they are all in good fun. She always is helping maneuver the feats of middle school from small things like what to wear to if someone hurt my feelings.
Someone I am Thankful For A dad, a guiding hand on your shoulder that will remain there forever.” - Unknown. A father is there through your journey of live, witnessing every bad, good, and uncertain decision that comes your way. My dad has a lot of character traits that i should be more thankful for.
The top three thing I am thankful for are my family, friends, and school. My family is the biggest thing that I am thankful for. The reason I am thankful for my family is because they love and care for me. I wouldn't know what I would do if my family didn't love and care for me.
I am grateful for my life in many ways and for many reason, I was born 5 weeks premature and one of twins. Though my twin did not survive long enough for me to know him it gave me a purpose to try new things. Whenever I am scared of a new experience such as snow-boarding I think about how lucky I am to be alive and well. This thought helps me to spread my wings and embrace the unknown. Even simple things make me feel thankful, such as running in the rain or taking a walk with my dog or just a lazy Sunday afternoon with myself makes me think how great it is to be alive and here. I have always delight in the small moments in life and to think that they could never exist for me is depressing. Furthermore, being able to share my thoughts and feeling with people I love is something that brings me great joy.
“Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.” - Oprah Winfrey. This means being able to appreciate what you have, makes you feel like you have everything in the world, but not appreciate what you have, makes you only want more. It is important to be thankful so that you don’t take things for granted, so even the smallest thing someone does for you,can seem like the biggest.
Kindness is the key to most everything. Being kind means taking the high road, even when someone has wronged you. It means serving other people, even under inconvenient circumstances. It involves looking for the good in others, and even helping them to see the good in themselves. Kindness is spreading happiness to make other’s day better and by making them smile. Kindness is defending those who are picked on by others, sitting by those who are lonely, and saying hi to someone in the hall. Kindness is being someone who wants to build up those around them.
...ed. Kluger believes the bond between siblings only grows stronger with age (“The Science of New Siblings”). I greatly agree with him on this statement. My sisters and I have grown closer with every year. Whether we are shopping or watching movies back to back, I help flourish a close bond between my sisters and I. My sisters and I share closeness I will never find with anyone else, and I can only hope our bond continues to grow.
One thing that has really taught me a lot in my life is the opportunity to see how my family is able to function properly, a majority of the time, with the completely different personalities that inhabit it. The two people that are unlike each other the most would be my parents. My mother is very reserved; however she can still be strict. Regardless, she always this loving look in her eyes. My father on the other hand is quite the jokester. He cracks jokes about everything, but he can be a very serious person when it comes time for it. My dad is easier to get things out of, such as money and permission. It is amazing to see how 2 different personalities can have such a strong relationship, almost 18 years! The other people in my family that have impacted me more than I ever would have wanted them to would be my siblings. My little sister is the closest in age to me, she being 14 whereas I’m 16.
