Becoming a successful teacher is a goal I have set for myself. Teaching has always been something I have wanted to do because of my influences throughout my life. When I become a teacher I hope to accomplish many things with my future students. By the time I finish teaching I hope to leave a legacy, and hopefully inspire other students to become teachers as well.
Why I want to teach
I want to become a teacher because I want to help children in the best way possible. I believe that is through a substantial and positive education experience. Providing children with a learning experience is one of the most fulfilling gifts in life. It is fulfilling because you get to help students achieve goals, and help them to grow as individuals while they

She was a third grade teacher at Jeannette Elementary School in Pennsylvania. Debbie always would say how much she loved her job and her students. One day she invited me to help set up her classroom in the summer before school started. I was ten at the time. I truly had a great time with her, and loved the feeling of setting up a classroom. I started to imagine how I would set up my future classroom as well. I learned a lot about what being a teacher is like thanks to her. Another influence would be when I taught ballet classes at Coastal Dance Center with three to eleven year olds. I thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching them and that helped me realize that teaching was for me. I loved when a student would execute a dance position correctly because they would smile proudly at their accomplishment. Being in control of the classroom was a great experience. I had to learn when to slow down, or when to speed up to adjust to each student. Having real experience definitely helped my decision in wanting to become a teacher. I feel that everyone should experience hands on teaching before they make a decision to study teaching. After seeing my Aunt Debbie accomplish so much as a teacher, I hope to accomplish things as
The main reason I would like to become a teacher is the love for little kids. I really enjoy being around children. After teaching Sunday School to children up to 8 years of age for over five years, I feel that I can relate to them and connect with them very well. I also feel that students look up to teachers, so they are a very big influence on the children's’ lives. I would love to know that I could make such a big influence on a child’s life. In my opinion teachers have an impact on the life of every student they ever have in class.
Growing up, I had aspirations to become things that seemed to be on the wish list of every young boy in grade school. We would try to compete with each other, telling all our friends we would become this or that in the future and be famous or make a difference in the world. I remember I proudly proclaimed that I would become an astronaut and find a planet which has life! As it turns out, that is something I will not be pursuing. As graduation comes closer for me, getting into the field of education and teaching at a secondary school is what I am aspiring to do. Although, being a teacher does come with plenty of stressors that can hurt the instructor physiologically or psychologically.
...ow that I can go out there and make the kids smile and have fun but again that's easy. I want to be the teacher that the kids remember not only because I was but but also because I taught them something and gave them a new way of critically looking at things. I think I'll be good at implementing the social learning theory because I enjoy being involved and if doing so if helpful to them then its another added bonus. I hope I can keep my ideas fresh and creative through the use of technology so I always keep the children interest and keep them motivated and wanting to learn more. I believe that if you can get a kid motivated to learn then you can find a way to teach them anything. I really think I am going to enjoy not only challenging the kids, but also challenging myself to keep finding ways to relate to each student and to get them interested and excited to learn.
In a society where kids must go to school up to the collegiate level, teaching is an impactful career choice. Teachers help contour the minds of future leaders of the world. Furthermore, teachers play a crucial role in guiding students to the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to succeed in life, and teachers lead students to make informed decisions on any topic the meet in the future. As a teacher, a person must relinquish their knowledge onto students. Finally, they must prepare their students for all the obstacles they will face later in life.
In my first years of teaching I plan to get a better understanding of my school community and the surrounding community, so I know where and how to get support for my students. I plan on attending trainings to keep up with the various concepts and principles that I will have to follow when teaching. I will also need to develop deeper understandings of adolescent development which will help when I am teaching to see changes in behavior and understanding and how it relates to each individual student. As a long term goal I will build relationships with fellow teachers to provide them support and learn together to become a team of advocates for our students. I know that it is up to me to grow and continue learning all that I can to provide my students the best learning experience possible.
I want to become a teacher because I want to make a difference in a child’s life. When I was little, the only reason why I wanted to become a teacher was so I can decorate a classroom. I used to decorate the walls in my room to make it like a classroom and I would always set up my stuffed animals in rows and teach them. As I grew older, I started to understand that there is more to being a teacher than just decorating a classroom. My Spanish teacher throughout sixth, seventh, and eighth grade really opened my eyes to this. She truly cared about every student who walked in through her classroom door, and she did everything in her power to help her students succeed and have fun in her class. After being in her class for three years, I knew I wanted to be just like her as a
Now that I have told you what has led me to this decision I would like to tell you exactly why I have chosen to become a teacher. I want to become a teacher not because of the salary nor because I want weekends and holidays off; rather, I want to become a teacher because I truly have a passion for making a difference in others lives. I feel that teaching is perhaps one of the most fulfilling roles in life. Becoming a teacher to me means helping to shape another person by teaching and instructing them.
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. Teaching is a career I have been interested in pursuing throughout high school, and as my experiences and study in the field expands, I feel that my desire to teach will grow stronger and develop more soundly.
“I wanted to become a teacher to be able to make a positive difference on the future of children. For me, it is fulfilling challenge, stimulating the next generation to become lifelong learners. I have always been grateful to my mom (who is a retired teacher) for implanting values in me. I feel I should contribute what I have learned and experienced over the years. This way I will be paying back and at the same time can fulfill my desire of enhancing the education system.”
I have not always wanted to be a teacher. I always knew that I wanted to work with children in some way, but I was pretty sure that teaching was not for me. I was well on my way in my junior year of college working toward a biology degree so that I could become a pediatric physician’s assistant. I still cannot explain what happened, but one week I was a biology major, and the next I knew that I have always been meant to teach children. I suppose I just took the longer route to get there than most people do. The two main reasons that I have chosen to become a teacher is that I believe that teaching is extremely personally rewarding in many ways and the fact that I can actively make a difference in someone’s life.
Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.
There have been many factors that have inspired me to this career choice. Watching my teachers, both past and present, has inspired me to become a teacher. I have a genuine interest in lifelong learning and as such I have the desire to not only instil knowledge and values to others, but also encourage them to share my passion for learning. Social Justice and leadership roles at school, along with my extra-curricular involvement with Cowra Youth Council, have highlighted my ability to work with and for the benefit of young people. In essence I know that my abilities and aspirations will make me a good teacher.
Education should be a part of everyone's life. A good education offers something for everyone, whether it be on the simple level or a more complex one. Education should provide provide an opportunity for students to develop a strong sense of creativity, a high self esteem, and a life long respect for learning. Education should help students establish a strong sense of confidence in themselves. A teacher will be one factor that helps a student learn and progress along their way through life. Teachers combine their own ideas with other people's to be able to give a good education to their students.
Teaching is a daunting task that I do not intend to take lightly. Becoming a teacher has been a dream of mine for several years. I always knew that teaching would be the career for me, especially when I began working in the school system as a substitute secretary. I loved working in the school environment; coming in contact with children everyday made me realize how much I would enjoy teaching a classroom full of students.
I believe that teaching is the most important profession in the world. How else can we continue to develop in such a technical world, or in any other way, for that matter? Without the transfer of knowledge to young minds, we will stagnate and wither as a world. Teaching is hope for better, more successful futures. Learning is hope for becoming better individuals, for gaining intelligence, and for implementing practical experiences in our future. Since we always tell our children that they should plan for their futures and work to realize those goals, the teaching profession should “practice what it preaches” by helping young people to reach those goals. Teaching reading during the past five years has been rewarding beyond my imagination. I have watched non-readers become readers, I have watched scores and student confidence improve, and I have been part of that change. What a reward!
