The overall policy explains the overall key points of how parental consent is required for tattooing, branding, and body piercing for anyone under the age of eighteen (Idaho Code 18-1523. (2004). It is explained throughout the bill, of how no one under the age of fourteen may acquire any form of tattooing, branding, or body piercing; as well, that no person should knowingly tattoo, brand or perform body piercings on a minor between the ages of fourteen and eighteen years unless the person obtains previous written informed consent of the minor's parent or legal guardian (Idaho Code 18-1523. (2004). The policy allows guardians, and parents to help guide minors from unsafe conditions as minors are not emotionally and physically mature enough to decide for themselves on conditions that are permanent and that can be regretted the rest of the minor’s life (Manning, 2013).

In today’s society oral piercing and tattoos are considered a form of self-expression and body art. It is most common among people between the ages of 18 and 30 years old. Those who chose to have tongue piercing and oral tattoos believe that it reflects fashion, a daring personality, independence, and their sexuality. In other cases oral piercings and oral tattoos may be done because of the need for acceptance into a peer group, desire to assert individuality, or for spiritual
Your 18th birthday is one of the most important birthdays. You are finally of legal age to get a tattoo or a body piercing. The difficult question you now face is which one do you choose? You would love either, so the decision is mainly based on the expense, aftercare, permanence, and the pain of each. Both are great ways of self-expression but body piercing is an overall better idea.
How can a child make the decision for the life of another child by themselves? In this paper I will outline the mental, physical, and safety issues of minors (age 18 and under) having an abortion and why it is so important that they need to get parental consent before making this life long decision.
Underage people are prohibiting smoking, drinking, or going in field trips without their parents’ permission. Therefore, how can a teenage girl have an abortion without the approval of her parents? Abortion itself is a controversial subject, and underage abortion is even more controversial. Minors should not have an abortion without the consent of their parents or their legal guardians for a variety of reasons.
As tattooing became more and more popular, tattoo parlors started opening all over the United States. In the 1950's, an outbreak of Hepatitis was blamed on an unsanitary tattoo parlor in New York City. When the outbreak occurred, it sent a panic through America. James Kilpatrick remarks on its effects in one of his articles stating, "An outbreak of Hepatitis in New York was attributed to an unsanitary tattoo parlor on Coney Island. This led to federal guidelines for tattoo artists in 1985, and to a host of state regulations." The individual state governments thought it best to stop it from spreading any more than it already had, starting with the current highlight, tattooing. All states adopted a law banning this practice. Since this ban in the 1950's, all states, except South Carolina and Oklahoma, have done awa...
Do you ever wonder why you never see tattoos and piercings in the medical or federal working fields? It’s because some people believe that a person with tattoos and/or piercings is linked to people with bad reputations, such as bikers, sailors, criminals, and gang members, but that is false. Piercings and tattoos have been popular for quite a long time now, but still get looked down upon and can even affect your daily life.

This is completely invalid. I classify inappropriate as being vulgar or containing profanity or nudity. Of course, there are tattoos that contain these elements, to which I would say should not be displayed in the workplace. But any tattoos that do not demonstrate this should not have to be covered. An individual cannot make the excuse that a tattoo or piercing is inappropriate, just because he or she disagrees with the modified person’s decisions. I believe that tattooed and pierced individuals are discriminated against for the reason that they do not meet other people’s
Though I can understand the school's view on things, I still have my own personal opinions. I know that the school worries about people bringing extra attention to themselves by having things like body piercings and tattoos, but I don't really think that they have any business telling the students how they can and cannot dress. I can also see where they might think that the student runs a risk of getting the jewelry pulled out of their skin if they rough-house too much or if they aren't careful. However, I feel that the student can make that decision on their own.
