• Knowing your students is crucial to the learning environment. As the classroom teacher I am the one who these students see five times a week for seven hours a day. It is important to keep a professional relationship with the students but to also build a relationship that allows you to understand students and relate content to them directly. I want to know aspects of their lives such as what their interests are. I want to know about how they learn best and how I can help them achieve in my classroom. Knowing what their home life is like as well is extremely important because it gives me a sense of who my students really are and what kind of support they are getting out of the classroom.

1. How do my students learn best? For example: are they visual, kinesthetic, or hands on learners? Do they need specific seating arrangements, or accommodations?
2. I want to know what motivates my students! I want to know what hobbies they have, what type of environment they work best in, and what there outlook is about school, do they like school or dislike school.

I then will look at my ending goal. I want to know where I want and need my students to be at the end of my lesson. I will also take into consideration where my students stand with prior knowledge to the subject I will be teaching. I also think it is important for myself to know the content well in order to teach it to my students, most effectively. Lastly what objective and goals I need to put into place in order to assure my students meet what I want them to achieve through this
