Thank you all for gathering here today in order to celebrate my departure from work, but please do not be sad. On this special occasion, it is a time to reminisce all the wonderful, and even the not-so-wonderful, times we have had together working here at McDonald’s. We have had our fair share of ups and downs, but in the end, we are always smiling and laughing, which is what matters most. But before I can continue, I would like to begin with remembering my first day at work. Then, I would like to talk about the memories that I have made along the way. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone personally, and then we can dig in and have some cake! Approximately a year ago, I came to this McDonald’s, in downtown, Jersey City, in search of employment, and luckily got hired on the spot. From having customers scream at my face to just cracking jokes when there is no one around, it has been tons of fun. I will never forget the time when an older lady had to use the bathroom, while it was occupied by another customer. At that moment, she could not contain herself and she ended up releasing her bodily waste all over the outside of the bathroom. Although it was a funny situation, it was also pitiful, and I had to react immediately. Or, for example, when there was a festival across the street from our McDonald’s and a man came up to our walk-through window to place an order. I was taking his order when the police slowly inched up on him and handcuffed him on the spot. I did not know how to react except to awkwardly close the window and continue with the rest of the orders. These are only a few instances of all the memorable moments at work, and they have truly shaped me into the person I am today; every memory has allowed me to grow, physically and
