My concentration for human services is children and family so I took this journal topic very seriously. I was already knowledgable with this topic, but I had never been asked to put them in order from most influential to least. I thought this was going to be really easy but I struggled with deciding which was more influential. I thought the biggest problem for at risk children would be parent criticism, anger, and blaming. Growing up kids look up to their parents and if someone they look up to is making them have low self-esteem that is going to cause major problems later on in life. After that I had temperament of child, this was the one I connected with the most because I feel like people don’t pay enough attention to this section. If the child has a negative temperament they are going to look at things in a negative way, if a child has a positive temperament they are more likely to look at things through a positive way. This is extremely important because where every child is different there is no way to know 100% how they will act in any given situation. After that I had attachment. I feel as if this matters to a degree but in most cases isn’t that big of a problem for at risk kids. If the attachment goes to far and start effecting the child's behavior then it becomes a bigger deal. Its okay for a child to have a strong connection with someone but it should never have to be an issue. The second to last I had was boundaries, I don’t feel like this is really a problem at all. I haven’t seen or experienced anything first hand so I’m not sure if I’m just not understanding what they mean by boundaries or if I just haven’t experienced it
