While watching and listening to Malcolm Gladwell video about Howard Moskowitz renovating different type of food and drinks made me realized how people like different kinds of stuff in their food. According to, Gladwell you can learn an abounding number of things by studying spaghetti sauce. I believe Gladwell idea was amazing because if it was not for Moskowitz we would be stuck with original things.
Studying spaghetti sauce makes us realize how not everyone has the same taste as others. In this case, he realized that the majority of the people like three different kinds of sauces. With that said, you do not need to have the same old traditional sauce, you need to change it up and invent new flavors or add different ingredients so people can be content. Everyone is not being satisfied with what they like, so if they do not try to make a different type of spaghetti sauce or any other thing they will lose profit.

Some important innovations that Howard Moskowitz made in the food industry are people do not know what they want, paying more for quality things, and changing up the menu.
The majority of the people do not know what they want when they go to eat, for example, they do not know if they want to get a burger, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, or what toppings to add. Besides not knowing what they want to order, they prefer to pay more for the things they want. For instance, people would prefer to pay for a Heinz ketchup and not an unbranded ketchup. For the most part, people prefer to spend more money because it would make them happy and give them a better taste. People want to change the menu since they want to pay for what they want. Platonic plates do not satisfy people, so they try to change it up. People always ask to add or take away things from their food. If people were not to do this they would not like to buy certain
foods. I like the idea of Gladwell because at the end we will eventually find a way to our happiness. Even though, we go through so much we will always do the best to get what we want. Also, people go through a lot when it comes to choosing a chicken alfredo, shrimp alfredo, salmon alfredo, and etc people always make the changes and add more or take away things to get the right plate. I agree with the idea that Gladwell has because if it wasn't for what we want many things would change. We are the only ones that can make a change on the things we want. For example, shirts when they are made they are released in one color and a logo, but since the population actually like other colors they release different colors. Additionally, everyone has their own pleasures and buy or eat what they like.
Interview Task 1 | Zachary Geller Research: I did not know exactly what brand of “smart” board we are talking about A google search for “smart boards cbsd” brought up a link about SMART software training for teachers https://www.cbsd.org/Page/21533 [Link 1] This led me to believe that “SMART” is the actual brand of software + equipment that cbsd may be using Googling ‘“SMART” NOTEBOOK SOFTWARE’ brought up https://education.smar So after finding the device manufacturer's website I was able to find troubleshooting links under their support page You can choose which specific model the teacher uses and that provides additional troubleshooting manuals Attempt and Problem Solving: Now the issue here is that the ticket provided to the IT department has minimal helpful information. We only got “it was an emergency.”
Michael Moscherosch was born on November 23rd, 1962, in Stuttgart Germany. He and his younger brother were born into a working class family, with his mother working as a full-time accountant and his father working as a car mechanic. The Moscherosch family stayed in Stuttgart for since its inception, the families ancestral roots stem as far back as the 1600s and stayed within Stuttgart and the villages surrounding the area. Michael as a child was described to be scholastic and performed well in his school. In Germany, instead of there being an elementary, middle, and high school, there is a primary school and then secondary schools prioritizing certain fields; some of these fields include engineering, trade schools, and “gymnasiums” which closely represent the structure of our American high schools. Upon completing his secondary school education, Michael began studying Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart, working at night during the week to fund his education.
When different kinds of menu for lunch and dinner are included, there is an opportunity for attraction of more clients in the new outlet
After a long day in school and studying, every student needs a night off to just relax and enjoy a meal at a restaurant. In this modern time, some aspects of a restaurant can be the deciding choice. Many choose their restaurant of choice based on either those they are with, their personal, cultural appetite, their routine eating habits or their mood. Some of these preferences are similar yet others are the deciding differences. Two common franchise restaurants that pose differences are Applebee’s and Olive Garden. These two restaurants present their differences in environmental and food options causing a choice between them.
Albeit the system seems rigged with an unfair advantage to fast food and junk food companies who dominate America’s landscape. In today’s society, if the government sets proportions, adults and children still have the freedom to choose what they consume. Companies are manufacturing to our taste in a series of experiments to find the “bliss” point in which consumers find the products more desirable (Moss 482). The logic is relatable as many businesses strive to appease their customers to return. Subsequently, in agreement with both authors, many adults are enticed by the convenience of these industries. Whether it be they are on the go or prefer not to cook after a strenuous day: the cheap prices and close proximity appeal to their fast paced
In “The End of Food” by Lizzie Widdicombe, a new food substitute, Soylent, is claimed to be able to completely push traditional, solid foods out of the picture. The author quotes Ethan Brown saying, “The main challenge with food tech is cultural.” The difficulties food tech companies face in getting people to get outside of their comfort zone and try new foods made me recall an experience I had when I was younger. I grew up as a picky eater and an introvert; I rarely ever tried food which was not in my normal diet, and I never met new people. Looking back at my youth, I realize much of my cultural ignorance at the time tied directly into me not wanting to get outside of my comfort zone. In the 8th grade, I went on a trip to Washington D. C.
Since before I took this class I had always been attracted to movies or cooking shows. The way food is prepared and the passion that many of the chefs put into their delicious creations. Many of the recipes are part of the person’s culture and they continue to cook these recipes to commemorate an important part of their history. A good example of this is the film Garlic Is As Good As Ten Mothers, garlic being the center of every recipe but it’s of great importance to the different cultures that represented in this film.
Learning how to prepare cultural dishes is a task that takes a lot more effort than just following a recipe. It's about getting a feel for that culture--the circumstances under which a dish was originally made. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm cooking an Italian dish, I like to research the cultural and historical significance of that dish. And in doing that for each dish that I cook, I gain a deeper appreciation for that dish's
One of the main benefits of menu labeling is giving consumer’s information directly to help them understand what exactly they are consuming. The average calorie intake for consumers is 1,800 to 2,000 per day. Even though consumers may not feel like they are eating too much, sometimes over half of the recommended calories will be consumed in just one meal. Menu labeling will allow consumers to track their calorie intake if restaurants will have the calories displayed on their menu. Most importantly, menu labeling focuses on the prevention of chronic diseases, which are typically related to obesity (Diets in Review). By providing nutritional information, restaurants could gain new customers. Since menu labeling is not being implemented in all restaurants, consumers are currently looking for establishments who provide nutritional
I chose Max Braverman from the TV show Parenthood, and he is a nine-year-old boy who is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome in the first episode. Asperger’s used to be one of the branches of autism that individuals were diagnosed with before the disorder was put under the single term Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD. Someone diagnosed with this form of Autism is generally considered high functioning compared to individuals on other parts of the spectrum. Symptoms of Asperger’s include, difficulty with social interactions, limited range of interest, repetitive behavior, uncoordinated movement, but unlike individuals further on the spectrum they won’t exhibit speech or cognitive delay. There are also common behaviors associated with the syndrome,
The average American eats double, almost triple, of what they need to consume to survive throughout the day. People tend to consume more protein than fruits and vegetables. If Americans cut their portions in half, the large portion of much of the human population would not be considered obese. The value meal at a normal fast food place is a good choice and very inexpensive with a good portion, because fast food restaurants do not want to give a consumer more for their money. At Mcdonald’s, and many other restaurants, they give everyone the choice to supersize up size their order, but it is not a mandatory option. People should try to avoid the huge burgers and everything that is high in sodium. A large fry should never be added to a person 's
Another point of reason I would like to argue about is fast-food restaurants are everywhere and it is difficult for one to find any alternatives. I would also like to ask of the consumers to look at it from another view. There are many choices available to consumers each day some can do harm, while othe...
CHANGING PREFRECE depended vastly on the fast food manus. For example we can mention about SALAD. Now salad was never considered as a part of fast food menu. But with the change of taste and preference, fast food chains like Windy, Taco Bell, and McDonald have introduced SALAD into their menus. This preference is not stopping only with salads. In 2002, McDonald’s introduced great tasting new products including premium salads, n salads plus menu; Chicken McNuggets made with white meat; Fish McDippers; Chicken Selects; and new breakfast offerings like the McGriddle sandwiches. Here as a fast food chain, McDonald did not have to introduce new dishes in their menus but with the impression and image in the market analysis, of increasing demand and chan...
American culture is changing dramatically. In some areas it’s a good thing, but in other areas, like our food culture, it can have negative affects. It is almost as if our eating habits are devolving, from a moral and traditional point of view. The great America, the land of the free and brave. The land of great things and being successful, “living the good life.” These attributes highlight some irony, especially in our food culture. Is the American food culture successful? Does it coincide with “good living”? What about fast and processed foods? These industries are flourishing today, making record sales all over the globe. People keep going back for more, time after time. Why? The answer is interestingly simple. Time, or in other words, efficiency. As people are so caught up in their jobs, schooling, sports, or whatever it may be, the fast/processed food industries are rapidly taking over the American food culture, giving people the choice of hot
People think that the price of fast food is cheaper than a home-cooked meal. Although many people like to eat fast food because of it is inexpensive and tasty, the actual price of the fast food is not exactly same like the menu. The price of fast food sounds affordable, but actually it is quite expensive. This is because people are influenced by the fast food restaurant’s advertisement. It illustrates the price of a set of fast food is affordable compared to cooking at home. When people go to the fast food outlet, they realize the price at the bill is not as same as the advertisement stated. The price is even higher than the price stated at the advertisement. Although the fast food advertisement provides the information that the price of fast food is low, the price in the advertisement does not include the tax and tips. On the other hand, cooking at home is much cheaper than eating fast food. It is always affordable, healthier and more emotional fulfillment when eating at home and cooking ingredients compare to eating out (Warner, 2015). The people only need to buy the ingredients and cook it by our own.It is always affordable because people only need to pay ingredients and cook it at home. There are no tax and extra tips! If people prepare their food in large quantities at home, it is more economical than buy several sets of fast food. According to Yeager (2010), “A family that commits to eating at home can save $3000 in one year and eat just as well,” (p. 52). Save and
