When students get back to school after going home for the weekend, their biggest worry is not being able to find a parking spot. Especially when they have only a few minutes to get to their first class and the parking lot is to capacity. Nobody wants to start out their week with a parking ticket, so they spend a lot of their time circling the parking lot just hoping that they will either catch someone backing out or they find a parking spot that is hidden between all of the cars that are spaciously parked on the gravel. The majority of the students that live on campus are West Residents. These students are only allowed to park on the west side of campus, or they will get a parking ticket. There are four dorms on this side of campus and they share a small parking lot by Madison Hall, the few angled parking spaces along University Avenue, and one parking lot between Commons and Ouachita Hall. The parking lot that is behind Commons is half gravel and does not have white parking space lines drawn on it. Students park unnecessarily far away from each other and take up more room than needed. They get several parking tickets because they end up having to park in the commuter or faculty parking spaces. If the …show more content…
If they were to build this garage, parking tickets would no longer be a major issue. It would not be almost impossible to find a parking spot anymore because of the multiple levels of the parking garage. There would be an appropriate amount of parking spots for the students in West Residence Halls. However, it could be quite expensive to build a parking garage of this magnitude. The University would not only have to pay to build a garage, but it would also have to pay a construction company to build it. Constructing this parking garage would also take a lot of time to
The choice to lower the amount of spaces available is to leave room for a nice park. At the front of the parking lot will be a kiosk and two gates where tourists will grab a ticket and also pay as they leave. This will ensure that the fee of five dollars per hour is being paid by keeping those in who haven’t paid it. The money from that fee would go to maintain the parking lot and bettering the park. To not build a parking garage at this time may anger some businesses, but the city will agree to look into the issue again in five years and decide then what should be done, if
A higher fee would be charged to non-residents to utilize the parking lots, which will help pay for taxes that the town residents pay on the lots. The residents of the beach town would be unhappy with this decision because it makes it much harder for them to find parking for the beach. Despite that this would please the other communities because it will give them better access to the beach. They may not like the higher parking fees but the access to the beach may outweigh that downfall.
Many college campuses restrict free speech solely to these areas, meaning that the rest of campus is not open for expression.
Parking on Campus is a Pain New students entering Concordia College are not permitted to have a car on campus. With each new freshman class entering every year, parking represents an issue. Concordia is as of now constrained in its parking on campus and since first year students are not permitted to have cars, the students are confronted with the problem of having no place to park or parking very a long way from their goal. There are parking issues everywhere throughout the campus, making backups in residence hall and other lots, bringing about students parking illegally to avoid from walking far distances, which can be very aggravating in the bitter cold. Parking nearer appears like the reasonable thing to do, however it is a hazard, which
Last week I planned on visiting the Historical Museum on Garden Pier. I rode down New Jersey Avenue between the former Revel and Showboat casinos, looking for a place to park. The street was packed with cars, but I found an opening next to a driveway. There was no paint on the curb marking how close you could park to the end, but I thought I could squeeze in. With the city's $100 million dollar budget shortfall, they probably cut out frivolous spending like curb paint.
Parking on campus needs improving. Students entering the university are allowed to have a car on campus. With every new freshmen class entering parking posses a problem on campus. The campus is already limited in its parking on campus and since freshmen are allowed to have cars, the students before them are faced with the dilemma of how many new freshmen will be bringing a car to school.
With living off campus, comes more freedom for students. There are no RA’s in the apartment’s off campus, and there is no limit to how many people you can have stay the night. students will also not have to check in the any of their guests. Secondly, students do not need to worry about quiet hours or noise complaints from other students. They might just need to worry about complaints from neighbors. Lastly with an apartment off of campus students get to experience what it is like to bay bills, rent, and grocery shop on their own. Instead of relying on their parents to pay for a meal plan or their apartment on
I think everyone would agree to the fact that college dorms are the best thing that can ever happen in a student’s life. Dorms were initially live savior for many who travelled from faraway land just to follow their dreams of pursuing their education. Sooner after that dorm became a norm in the lives of college going students to be very specific. Just to give you a little idea dorms have been known to be the inspirational spot to many people who transformed the world into a better place to leave. From the world famous Mark Zuckerberg to the creators of Spongebob Squarepants dorms where were it all once began.
Sheridan College rests at the bottom of the beautiful Big Horn Mountains, in a small, friendly Western town where everyone believes that everyone else is their neighbor and treats them as such. After a week at Sheridan College, I guarantee that any visitor would mistake it for Heaven; that is, except for one issue: the lack of parking on campus. Nearly every time in the past that I have attempted to locate a desirable parking spot, I have failed and have had to settle for a spot at least five minutes away from my intended location. After three semesters of frustration, I gained the necessary permission to research this predicament and present my findings in this report.

First, it would make the skate park safer. If anyone wrecks they will not have to worry about getting a tetanus shot. Everything up at the park is all rusted. Once the Bager Park gets an update, it will make
Firstly, bikers can use roads. Most roads on campus even have a bike lane available, so bikers are neither slowing down vehicle traffic, nor crashing into pedestrians on the sidewalk. For contrast, skateboarders do not belong on the road, or on the sidewalk. Both cars and pedestrians are irritated when a skateboarder doesn't follow
It is hard to find parking on campus, especially during rush hours. Both students and professors are encountering trouble for this crisis. As a simple example, the parking lot next to the Sarkeys building is always full. This problem is a continuous, daily hazard. As a student required to maintain a lot of class schedules and activities, I suffer from the parking problem daily and find that others encounter the same. It is true that the university is working on a new parking garage, but during the construction process, there is no alternative way to settle the crisis. The official home page of OU parking and transportation services is a source to consider for exploring the problem.
