Sugar: and its effect on health
Sugar is a highly addicting substance, it can turn a completely healthy meal unhealthy. Too much sugar can cause obesity, diabetes and other health problems. Sugar is in many of the things that we eat, learning about how sugar can affect our life is the first way we can use it to change our lives. It has effected not only adults but children health too. With the different types of sugar, how does the amount of sugar effect human’s health?
Sugar is the leading factor in obesity and diabetes. A human is normal supposed to consume around 10 tablespoons a day. A can of coke has 10 tablespoons of sugar. That’s a person daily limit in one drink not leaving room for other sugary products. Sugar can be hidden in many of the different things that we eat. Not know, a person can consume a great amount of sugar. Even the foods that supposed to be healthy can contain a high amount of sugar. “For instance, a small 10 ounce bottle of Naked's Green Machine has a whopping 35 grams of sugar. Compare that with 10 ounces of Pepsi, which has 34 grams of sugar.” (Nokah). Naked’s are advertised as a healthy drink for all to drink, but has the same amount of sugar that Pepsi has. This does not mean the drink isn’t healthier then Pepsi, it just means that it has around the same amount of sugar.

The problem with sugar is that most people do not know how to moderate it. There is more and more products created to help contain sugar intake. Before the amount of sugar that we would consume was up to the person who was cooking that day. Sugar will never go away, but we learn from our mistakes. We now know that sugar has an effect on our body and steps are being taking to help change. Former First Lady Michelle Obama, took a stand against obesity by limiting amount of sugar that has been in the school lunch. Not everyone agree with this change, but it’s a start in creating a healthier life
