There are many awesome things in life, although I’d have to say the greatest thing in life is soccer. Soccer has always been a big part of my family. The first sport that I ever played was soccer. My dad was my first coach and I always remembered playing around with a soccer ball. However, it wasn’t until the 2008 Euro cup, that I fell in love with the game. Daily, I would watch the best of Europe compete to see who was the best. Needless to say, I was inspired. Soccer became my life and soul, I started to follow several clubs and leagues. Two years later, for the 2010 World Cup, I was so excited, I would actually get up at 04:30 and watch the games live. Whatever I did it was, in some way, related to soccer. I had always hoped to become a …show more content…
On most days I love to learn, however, there are times where I want to be doing something else besides learning. However, most of the time I enjoy learning. Most days, when I’m not learning something, I find myself just sitting around being bored out of my mind. Without that mental stimulation, I wouldn’t know what I’d do. My favourite is when you get the iconic “lightbulb” moment and you realize or understand, a topic that you were having trouble with before. What I find interesting is that in the entire 17 years of my life, there’s always something more that I can learn about. The reason that I find this interesting is it means for the rest of my life I am able to always learn about something, and that there won’t come a time where I’m unable to quench my thirst for knowledge. I know that some people don’t like learning new things, and I think it’s because they make themselves believe they know everything about anything, and that they don't need to know anything else. What they don’t understand is we continue to learn about life and whatnot, we actually become better people. Without knowledge, humanity wouldn’t be where it is at
Many things have helped to shape my identity to make me the person I am. The most influential thing that has shaped me is my culture. One of the biggest pieces of my culture that has done this is my participation in sports. Out of the sports I play, high school soccer has shaped me the most. Soccer in high school shaped my identity by making me more social, a leader, and open minded about diversity.
Learning is important for countless reasons, the most important reason being that it molds a person into who he or she is. What people choose to learn, and also what they choose not to, create the core of their opinions as individuals. Though people do not admit it or openly declare it, it is fair to say almost everyone is self centered. Because of this, and the fact that learning dramatically affects a person, learning is not only thrilling, but also expressive. Furthermore, since learning is expressive, its meaning varies from person to person, therefore making each person’s experiences with learning unique and life changing.
I remember my dad always watching soccer news every night before going to bed. All my family loves soccer, we have this tradition that when a Mexican team plays we all get together to watch the game at my mom’s house. I think that’s what makes me love soccer as much as I do. Playing soccer also helps me to relax and to be confident when I have stress or after a long day at work. It's not just about kicking the ball or scoring
Over the years, soccer has changed me as a person. I love thinking back at the great memories I had playing soccer. I plan to never stop playing soccer. Hopefully, I will play on the club team at Shippensburg and never give it up. This was one of my most memorable moments in my life playing soccer. Through soccer I made friends, learned how to be a team player and helped me bring my family closer together. If it wasn’t for soccer I wouldn’t be who I am today and I am very grateful for this.
Soccer has helped me to become the person I am today. It has given me the opportunity to build relationships that I would not have made elsewhere. Playing the sport has helped me overcome my issues with anger and has made me tougher as well. I am thankful that my parents pushed me to keep playing when I was younger, because now I adore playing soccer and could not imagine
While I have developed my soccer skills over the years, the relationships I have built with people are treasured more than my ability to play the game. Playing soccer has granted me the opportunity to be surrounded by an extensive family of people who truly love me. I am forever indebted to the sport for bringing me into love-filled relationships with players and coaches alike.
Growing up in El Salvador, soccer was a sport that significantly impacted my childhood. My cousins and uncles taught me how to play soccer, as well as various techniques that would later benefit me on the soccer field. At the age of seven I started to play for one of most well-known soccer clubs in El Salvador. Practicing twenty three hours a week was really paying off, as I could see in my medal and trophy gain. Not only did they represent my accomplishments, but they also gave joy to my teammates, community, and family because they were the people who encouraged me to give my best. Playing soccer was also a way to release stress because when my family was going through hardships, it was easier for me to let all of my negative energy on the
When I turned three, I started playing my favorite sport to this day, Soccer! I love soccer because it gives me this feeling of excitement and I just love winning with all of my friends on the field. I loved soccer and I looked forward to it every day. I met a lot of my friends in soccer and it is one of the reasons that I started to become an athletic person. Soccer is still my favorite sport and I love it. I am planning to still play soccer up to the varsity team.
The definition of soccer: “A game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponent 's ' goal.” When I think about the thing I’m most passionate about, soccer pops into my head right away. Soccer represents more than just a game to me. The sport gives me an outlet distract me from the real world, it taught me to overcome a battle that shaped my character, and my teammates bring out the best in me.
Soccer has always been a part of my life since I was four years old, it has also been in my family for a very long time. My father played soccer all his life and also in college, the same thing goes for my sister she also played in college. So soccer is in my blood and because of that reason and because I have been playing since I was four years old it has taught me some very important lessons that will benefit me greatly through the rest of my life.
Learning can be defined as simple for some and difficult for others. Everyone has a different way of learning new material. In the first paragraph I mention a story about a man who wasn’t denied to learn and just gave up, but then starts reading and finds a new love for learning. The second paragraph, the story is biography about a lady who was struggling to learn and study, but meets a group who makes learning a whole new and exciting thing. The last paragraph mentions different skills to enhance the brain.
Throughout my life I have attempted to understand many concepts. Some of them I understood right away, while others took me much longer to comprehend. Several times though, I have experienced a light-bulb moment and suddenly understood what I did not understand only moments ago. The sudden sense of accomplishment from such moments is wonderful because not only have you learned a new skill, but you also learned it in a short period of time. The time between learning a skill and experiencing the light-bulb moment where you finally understand it may take a long time, or it may be very brief.
Learning is a process that occurs by curiosity; a process that ignites when a person realizes their very own ignorance. In Plato’s (trans. 1956) Meno, learning is described as an exercise that is stimulated when a person becomes perplexed by knowledge that they are unaware of. Likewise, Arthur W. Combs (1982) in “Affective Education or None at All” demonstrates that learning occurs when a person is exposed to new information, and then drives him or herself to explore the meaning behind this new information. Plato’s demonstration of learning is similar to Combs’s in that both showcase the process of learning to gain strength when a person is confronted with a challenge, instilling interest to resolve the unknown. However, both authors
“The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know” – Albert Einstein, is the perfect statement of how this semester has taught me to approach learning. Throughout this semester, I am being challenged to rethink who Chad is as a learner and professional. I started this class with the understanding that I only was learning to please society and to advance my career, however, have come to appreciate learning in a whole new way due to understanding myself more. Learning is more than reading and writing, but how a person comes to appreciate the world around them and grows as a citizen. This paper will discuss how I understand myself as a learner today and what influences have impacted me the most. Using active and experiential learning, Gilligan’s Theory of Moral Development, and Baxter Magolda’s Theory of Self-Authorship I will discuss who I am as a learner. I will also discuss how Spiritual Development has “slowed/challenged” my development as a learner.
“Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.” – Jim Rohn
