How Many Hours Students Work
The question of how many hours a student worked was used to see if having a part-time job had any effect on their GPA . In order to compare hours worked and overall student GPA the data had to be broken down into intervals of how many hours students worked per week. The intervals chosen for this were 0 hours, 1-10 hours, 11-20 hours, and 21+ hours. Also, the overall GPA intervals had to be used to compare with. After breaking down the data, we noticed that among the students who worked 21+ hours, there was an equal amount of students in the 4.0-3.5 and the 2.9-2.5 GPA groups. From the survey, it was determined that 12 of the 53 students work zero hours and are taking 14 to 17 credit hours. It was also found that 33 of the 53 students working different amounts of hours, also are taking 14 to 17 credits. It was also found that students have the same drive and determination of working 21 plus hours and having a strong GPA, as working 21 plus hours and taking a full recommended amount of credits. This data can be seen below in figure …show more content…

Then we observed the utilization of the library and tutor centers. Viewing the data many students with 4.0-3.5 GPAs use these sources to help. Also there are many people with high GPAs but also disregard using these facilities. Overall the higher GPA students are utilizing the library and or tutor centers. As seen in figure 3 graph those students under a 2.99 GPA do not use the sources of help given. Here at Western Michigan University with most of the data was taken there are many free tutoring centers for different
