Introduction: Getting a snack or a drink between classes is not an uncommon activity for college students and faculties. A lot of the time students or faculties can only go to a café to get something because the individuals do not have any enough time to wait in line to get food at a restaurants. Sometimes students or faculties go to the café because it is a lot closer than the restaurants. Most students and faculties will go to the name brand coffee place on campus like Starbucks, but some will go to the café located inside of the library. With that being said what gender goes to the library café more often? Do more people get a cold drink versus a hot drink? Do most students or faculties ignore the option to get a snack? Those questions led me to the hypothesis of do females get hot beverages without getting food more often
More females did purchase a hot drink without getting food than males. Surprisingly the gender of the students and faculty that went to the library café is about even. The study, which was conducted for about a half hour had an even amount of males and females. Majority of the participants got a hot drink whether the participant was male or female. The result of that could possibly be due to the fact that the study was conducted on a colder day. The study could have also been conducted for a longer period of time or during two separate times of the day. It could have been conducted once in the morning and once in the afternoon to see if the results in the morning matched the results in the afternoon. That would have concluded a more accurate representation of the gender of the individuals who go to the library cafe as well as the type of drinks the individuals order and if they purchase food with the order. With the limited amount of participants used and the short time-span the study did not have enough data to conclude completely
While this study did not produce the result we wanted, we believe that we could use the information learned from this study and develop a study that would be more effective.

2.) We began our study by interviewing a classmate, then interviewing another PLHS student for homework and recording our data. We then proceeded to fill out a Google form, which aided us in planting the anonymous data in a data table and combining it. Following that, we sorted and graphed the data by gender and ethnicity to see how different groups responded to each inquiry. Upon doing th...
Energy drinks affect your body in ways people don’t think about. My experiment was created to find out what happens to your heart rate after putting an energy drink into your body. Some of the things I found by doing some research is that you can go to the hospital just for drinking an energy drink alone. Energy drinks contain more caffeine than what the label says. Based on this research a hypothesis was created. The hypothesis was, if you drink an energy drink, then your heart rate will increase due to the amount of caffeine it contains. This hypothesis made the most sense because caffeine has been labeled by doctors to not be the safest substance.
For this study ten participants were chosen to complete the study. For this particular study, the participants had to be the eldest and youngest child from the same family. They both also had to be raised in the same household. The pairs were picked at random and then asked to complete the test. There were three males tested and seven females tested.
...that I encountered in collecting data was when I was observing. Since I had no contact with the subjects, I simply made the assumption that they were picking the movie for themselves to watch. However, the person could have been renting the movie for someone else. Another limitation occurred through the survey. I had two different choices for the categories of the movies. One choice was action/adventure and the other was romance/romantic comedy. Romantic comedy and true romance movies vary in multiple ways and I should not have categorized them as one type of movie. This could have swayed my results a little. In doing this research again, I would have three categories; one action, one comedy, and one romance. I also could have interviewed a female. I only interviewed a male and therefore, I only gained detailed information from one gender’s perspective.

Two thirds of the human body, including an athlete's body, is made up of water. Without water we can not live, nor would we exist. Water needs to be purified in order to be drinkable and safe for humanity. Most athlete's drink high quality purified water which promotes their hydration. Dehydration is the result of not having water in your body. This can lead to fatigue, headaches, joint pain and other uncomfortable states in the human body which would affect an athlete's performance. A human can not spend more than three days without having water, therefore an athlete that uses more water than a normal person would have a shorter period of time because of how quickly they use the water. The average tissue in your body is made up of 50 percent
The study consisted of a significant number of females compared to males, which makes it invalid to conclude that the findings support the general population. A strength was that participants were selected at random. By doing so, the study remained unbiased, thus making the results more credible.
Another question in which was asked of me was; what do the customers order? Since my scan was done at night most drinks that where ordered where hot. Also some people would order a pastries with there drinks in which could be a coffee cake, or a chocolate espresso browny, or one of the other pastries in which where offered. People ordered many different types of drinks such as hot chocolate, vanilla crème, and coffee. An item in which people also order but was rare is the sandwiches in which Starbucks makes daily. While listening to what people order there was a coffee language in which was used a lot and one that every customer knew, this language was the language in which told the employees what size of drinks they wanted.
Taxing sugary drinks has been a controversial national topic for a while now, most people can agree that the arguments regarding this topic started when New York City's Mayor Michael Bloomberg attempted to ban all outsized sugary drinks from restaurants and other eateries. This sparked great controversy and upset many people regarding Bloomberg and how he used his "power" as New York City's mayor to impose such a ban. Although Bloomberg's ban was not as successful as he wanted it to be, many states and people agreed with what he was trying to impose and started taking matters into their own hands. Cities and states started to slowly ease in their attempt to put a ban on sugary drinks and have people apart of their region follow their attempts. Like Bloomberg, these states are all correct; putting a tax on sugary drinks is a positive initiative that the United States government should work harder to impose.
Alcohol is a drink that changes people mood in a legal way in most countries. It is a drink that makes the brain not function normally when a person over drinks. Alcohol has many bad effects on our life, and health. On the other hand, it can be used in useful uses such as the medical wipes but it must be used in limited and known quantity.
As the consumption of sugary drinks has increased over the years, they have become an integral part of an American’s diet. However, this has also brought about an increase in obesity while also costing Americans precious tax money. According to Richard F. Daines, the costs of obesity will continue to absorb our taxes while it chips away at our health (633). By reversing this process and taxing sugary drinks we can ultimately reduce the immediate cost to tax payers, improve overall health and wellness for Americans, and combat our growing addiction to poor lifestyle choices over time.
Tea is the second most widely consumed drink after water around the globe. An approximate of 20% of all the tea consumed is green tea. Green tea is first introduced in china and now it is gaining popularity among different countries especially in the west. Many different varieties of green tea are harvested in countries where it is grown. It comes from the same source where the black or white tea comes. The only difference is in its processing those results finally in different tastes and colors. Leaves of camellia sinesis plant which is native to china or India is the source of green tea.
