On October 3rd, at Ann Van Park, Hillsborough Middle School was participating in a large race, known as the Brian Hahl Invitational. This meet is in honor of Brian Hahl, he was the coach of the boys’ Cross Country Team. Tragically, Brian Hahl died of a heart attack while riding his bike. In his memory, every year Hillsborough Middle School hosts an invitational meet named after him. About 7-8 schools show up every year to participate, Hillsborough included. Top 40 in each race will receive a medal. Swati Bhaskar was standing on a corner by the basketball court directing runners toward the finish line. As the second race adjourned she sat down on a nearby bench waiting for the next race to commence. But, as she waited she witnessed something unforgettable. A man was walking with his daughter toward his car after the race and Swati Bhaskar heard something brutal. “You don’t win a race just by showing up.” He said to her. According to Swati Bhaskar, she was hunched over, had puffy eyes, but she didn’t have a medal. “I just felt so bad for her.” Swati Bhaskar said unfortunately. …show more content…

Many parents just want what is best for their kids and do not realize they are pressuring their kids. "Anxiety can present differently in children than in adults.
