There once was this boy named Steven his mom and dad got divorced when he was really young, and now he is 13 years old and his mother who is named Miranda is living with her soon to be husband and Steven is living with them at Blake’s house. (Blake is Miranda’s soon to be husband). They are living a happy life already but they thought it would be better if they moved to Tampa Florida and have a new beginning there and get married there too. So they begin to pack and they begin to get in the car to go down to Florida for their new life together and Steven starts to think about how he is going to adjust to his new school and if he is going to make friends or not. get his classes and introduced him to other people and all good things. Until one day that friend decided he didn’t want to help him anymore and he started bullying Steven. This situation got so bad that Steven decided to tell his mom, and it wasn’t like Steven to tell his mom because she would always go crazy about it or not understand it at all. But this time she understood and called the school principal about it and the boy that was bullying Steven actually got suspended from school and wasn’t at school for a few weeks. That made Steven really happy because he could finally focus on basketball without someone pressuring him while he was trying to make himself shine on the court. Steven was offered homeschooling so it was easier to focus on school work when he was getting bullied everyday. But he refused to do that because he wouldn't be able to play his favorite sport or make other friends at his school that he hasn't discovered yet. Steven is very depressed because of that one person who has bothered him ever since the first week of school but Steven is trying not to show his emotions too much to his enemy because that will just make Steven look worse to other people. One day Steven tells his mom and stepdad that he cant handle the bullying any more. So Miranda and Blake decide to take a trip to the school one day and talk to the principal about the situation that has been going on for a few weeks and it has been nonstop ever since. Blake and Miranda talked to the principal about this boy that has been bothering Steven and the principal had no idea about this serious situation that has been going on and the principal was disappointed in Steven for not telling him about this situation , but the principal was more disappointed in the boy that had been doing this to Steven. Weeks went by and spring turned into summer and the summer faded into the fall and the boy that had been giving Steven a hard time hadn't been back to school so that gave Steven a lot of basketball practice time at school when he had time and Steven had a stress free life in school now!
Steven liked the fact that he could actually tell the people that he doesn’t do the things that the bully told the other people. The reason for that was that the bully was a popular person but that was because people always believed him. Steven always had a hard time figuring out what people always thought because they always thought different than he did, but he always figured out a way to try to figure things out on his own some …show more content…
how. Steven always had to get off the bus at his house because Miranda or Blake wouldn’t be home in time to pick him up from school or to be home with him when he got .home from school. But today was the first day that he had to ride the bus home to his new house in Tampa, he was completely nervous because he had never had to ride a bus to anywhere before. Steven had to walk outside to the buses and he had to make sure he was going to the right bus. But he was walking to the bus and the bus driver was waiting on him and when he got there the bus driver knew where he was going so it all worked out. For Steven the bus ride was very short and the very nice bus driver was very helpful to Steven. So when Steven was dropped off at his new home the bus driver wished him a good rest of the day and drove away. When he started walking toward the door he could hear someone inside, but he knew that no one was there because there were no cars and he knew that his mom and dad were at work at this time of day. The closer he got to his house the louder the noise got, Steven started to get worried because it sounded like someone was robbing his house but he wasn’t really sure. So Steven decides to open the door and there was absolutely nothing in the house, Steven really just stood there and he was speechless and he seemed like he couldn’t catch his breath at all. His house looked the way it looked before they moved everything in, there was nothing in his house.Nothing. Steven decided to call his mom but he knew she wouldn’t be able to answer but it was worth a try.
She didn’t answer so he tried to call Blake, surprisingly he answered and Blake was able to leave work at that time so he rushed home. When Blake got home he called the cops instantly, when the got there they knew exactly where the people were that had taken their stuff. The thieves had taken all of their stuff and had it all in the back of a truck and the driver of the truck had been drunk and wrecked the truck with all of the furniture in it. The good thing was all of the furniture was fine and the driver was fine and it was only a mile up the road. The cops were able to get the furniture back to their house and all in the right place before Miranda got home and freaked out. Steven and Blake worked very hard to get everything into place so Miranda wouldn't know what happened or she wouldn’t let Steven stay home alone ever again and he would have to go to a baby sitter. Steven hated the baby sitter so much because he couldn’t ever make friends when he went there, he still can’t make friends but he was working on
it. Miranda finally got home and Blake or Steven didn’t say a thing about what had happened that day and they weren’t going to say anything until the next year because they were afraid of what she would say. And when Miranda got home she had sat down on the couch because she felt as she couldn’t catch her breath and she felt all kinds of pain in her chest and didn’t have any clue why. She knew she didn’t do anything that day but work at a computer the entire day and that was very unusual for her she actually began to get a little scared. She told Blake that she had to go the hospital, and she never has been to the hospital for something like this before. When they got there they got a doctor right away and they took X-rays of her chest and lungs and found a bunch of cancer in her lungs and the doctor told her she only had 4 months to live because there was so much blockage that if they took all of the cancer off of her lungs there wouldn’t be any of her lungs left. That day Blake and Miranda left the doctors office very sad.

As he thinks back to his writing prompt, “The most annoying thing in the world,” he realizes that Jeffery is not the most annoying thing in the world, but living without him would be. This story shows that when life throws you into a big mess, all you can do is grow and become stronger than the situation you are in. Life moves on and things will always get

After Junior’s sister Mary dies in a terrible fire, he feels sad and alone. At school, his fellow students and friends make him feel better by giving him hugs and small slaps on the back. “They were worried for me. They wanted to help me with my pain. I was important to them. I mattered. Wow,” (Alexie 212). Back on the Reservation, Junior never felt important, which really put a damper on his confidence. However, at school he knows people care about him and it makes him feel good and appreciated. This experience impacts Junior’s identity and makes him a better, and more confident person. Junior goes to his first school dance, and afterwards him, his girlfriend, and a few of his friends go to a Denny’s to eat pancakes. He is poor and obviously cannot pay for the food, but he orders it anyways. Later that evening, his friend Roger finds out that he does not have enough money to pay. Instead of getting mad, Roger lends him forty dollars and goes on his way. When they got back to the school after having pancakes, Penelope, Junior’s girlfriend, finds out that he is poor and kisses him on the cheek. “But then I realized she was being my friend. Being a really good friend, in fact. She was concerned” (Alexie 127). This entire event shows Junior that being poor is not a bad thing. It lets him know that people will still be his friend even when they know he is

(Topic Sentence) Bullies harass other students for many purposes, but none of these reasons are justified. (Surprising Statement) Each year in the U.S., 3.2 million students are tormented, with 160,000 of them skipping school due to it. Clearly, our school districts are not doing a substantial job of keeping students safe to allow them to earn the education they deserve. (Background Information) For example, Jamie Nabozny was harassed for his sexual orientation. Jamie was beaten to the point where he was forced to go to the hospital, after which the tormentor said (CRAFT)“If you tell anyone, I’ll kill you.” He ran away multiple times to avoid going to school, and even attempted to commit suicide. (Thesis Statement) In the Bullied documentary, it tells a story showing why no student deserves to be bullied for any reason and that the school district must protect their students.
The article, “Bullies and Their Victims”, by Berk (2010) gives an analysis of how bullies and their victims develop, what makes them persistent and how they and their victims can be assisted. Bullying is an activity that thrives mostly in a school setting because of peers and the various cultures and diversities among them. Interactions are inevitable among children, but bullying is destructive because it aims at peer victimisation. Both boys and girls have the ability to become bullies but the majority of them are boys who use physical and verbal attacks on their victims. In the more recent generations, the means of bullying is amplified in the adolescent stage by using electronic means like cyber bullying. Students will rarely like bullies but if they do, it is because of their leadership abilities or influential personalities. Their peers may join or stand by to watch as the victims are bullied.
Bullying is a form of violence, a way to gain the power to repress the weak.
It only takes one bad experience to change your opinion on something. Imagine if you went through this same bad experience for months, or better yet years. Your whole personality, how you view yourself, and others changes drastically. This is what it feels like to be bullied. Bullying is a serious issue in America, especially among children and young adults. From kindergarten all the way up until my sophomore year of high school, I was a victim of bullying. Being bullied changed how I viewed myself and others, what my values and morals were, and it shaped me into the person I am today.
