Healthy School Lunch Issue

Schools all across America struggle with the controversial topic on school lunches. Some say that they should be healthy and not allow any type of junk food in lunches or vending machines. Students and parents that are paying for these lunches have a lot to say on this subject, and even school administrators have voiced their opinion. Although schools across the nation believe they need to have healthier options, many kids go home hungry and many schools end up broke. My argument is that school lunches do not provide enough calories for growing kids, especially athletes. There is not enough food on the trays in many schools to fill a child up. Packing lunches isn’t always as easy as it sound. That is time consuming, and parents rely on the schools, the place they send their kids every day, to provide them with what they need. Parents are paying for these lunches along with the food they provide their children at home. If we changed the school lunch program, the majority of students would be happier and more satisfied, parents would be happier because their money is not being wasted on food that’s not getting eaten, and schools would not be losing money from expensive food that is getting wasted. Schools all over struggle with keeping students satisfied with their lunches. I believe students need bigger and better lunches in order to satisfy them and give them enough. Most of the time, students (especially high schoolers) need more food than anyone else. Athletes and just growing bodies in general need more calories than what the schools are providing them, and I think school lunches should be evaluated again. Maybe then students would be
