To begin with, each information people learn in health education affects and makes them more conscious. To demonstrate, inasmuch as people are influenced by the informations they learn, better health education affects these individuals positively. Secondly, practicing eating healthy is also required and definitely, by the time health education finishes, people will have wanted to practice what they learn; in other words, they will have wanted to eat healthy. Nutrition and health have become more popular in today 's society. Our generation is becoming more and more indebted to the idea of being healthy and eating nutritious meals. However, in “The American Paradox,” by Michael Pollan he argues that our unhealthy population is preoccupied with nutrition and the idea of eating healthy than their actual health. He also mentions the food industry, nutrition science and how culture affects the way we eat and make food choices. While Pollan is right about all these factor that affect our eating habits, there is more to it than that. Convenience, affordability and social influence also affects our food choices making them inadequate.
The World Health Organization (WHO) (2010) defines obesity and being overweight as an abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health. Body mass index (BMI) as Arterburn et al (2008) put forward is a measure of body fat based on height and weight and further suggest that any individual with a BMI of more than 30 is considered as obese. Tannahill et al (1999) advocate that health education could be viewed as communication activity aimed at enhancing positive health and preventing ill health in individuals and groups by influencing their beliefs, attitudes, and behaviour of persons with power and of the community. Butler et al (2008) defines health prevention as the measures for early detection of departure from good health. Whereas Heath (2002) concurs that the role and function of the nurse emphasise on health promotion and illness prevention, the Department of Health (2010) emphasises on the prevention of diseases, prolonging life and promoting health rather than treatment.
Education is a very important factor in a person’s life and there is different parts of education whether that may be primary, secondary or further education like college or university. These skills and knowledge that is taught develop us into the person we become later in life. Learning just doesn’t stop after school or further education, each individual develops and continues to learn through life for example jobs and new experiences. Therefore, education is an important social determinant of health which can affect not only individuals but families and communities too as well as having a large impact on our physical and mental

Having to eat so much is a problem and the authors have great ideas to help prevent overeating. Americans around the world need to stop eating so much because they play a role model to the youth and young adolescents. Healthy eating is the most beneficial, despite how it sometimes tastes.
One growing problem facing children today is obesity. When young people face weight problems it is often carried over into adolescence and adulthood. It is thought that if children are taught healthy eating habits from a young age then they will have more apt to eat healthy when they are an adult.
...education to all the children in school. This will, in turn, guide our future generation to follow a hale and hearty exercising and diet programs. In addition, such programs will initiate a smaller percentage of children becoming obese and thus growing up as regular healthy adults. As a society, we should depend on the schools to educate our children on physical education and healthy eating habits. Physical education classes should be available for all grades from kindergarten to twelfth grade in order to face the problems of obesity in our society.
As a result of the research I’ve come to this conclusion regarding “does Education lead to better health?” Education has shown to be a powerful and unique predictor of health outcomes, lower levels of education are associated with poor health and higher levels of education are associated with better health.
The poor food choices that men and women make is the cause of many illnesses, disease and chronic health conditions. Men and women generally have different thoughts and choices on the topic of healthy food. People’s bad health may be genetically occurred or their exposure to their past nutritional education was not helpful, but their bad health is primarily based upon the poor choices that the individuals choose in daily life.
When I first started college, my view of a health care professional was a transparent overview of the field and their duties. I knew what they did, but at that time I didn’t understand why. Becoming a health educator is easier said than done, and with the knowledge comes a great responsibility. Health education as defined by the World Health Organization is “the process of enabling people to increase control over their health and its determinants, and thereby improve their health’. That is noteworthy, yet at the same time, a very board definition. I define health educators as a guardian of the unmindful, meaning as a health educator, you are responsible for the knowledge of your community and expanding their mind set.

For the students to participate in sports fully and to determine their talents, there should be no junk foods in schools for them to be strong without complications related to severe eating such as weak bones which can hinder them from taking part in sports. Lastly for the parents not to spend so much money on their children’s food, the schools should provide the healthy diet which is cheaper and its consumption is not frequent, unlike the junk whose serving is at any time leading to

In the article, “Unhealthy Diet Problems,” Holly Case states that unhealthy diets are starting to go up and this will cause many health problems in the future. A healthy diet includes fruit, Vegetables and whole grain, but in the time we live in now most people choose to eat anything they want even if it is not healthy. The majority of people in this society try to exercise and eat right to stay healthy. The problem is that they worry more about exercising and not getting good nutrition. They do not understand that exercise is not enough to be healthy. In order to be healthy, people should be aware of what they eat. This may not be easy for everyone, but one can get support from family and friends in order for it to be easy. Good nutrition is more important than regular exercise because it helps in losing weight, helps to fuel the body, prevent the risk of getting diseases, and helps building muscles.
Having a healthy body can contribute to an individual’s overall well being and happiness. In the reading about virtue and health by Gary Ferngren, we learn about the meaning of ‘virtue’ in the ancient world which referred to the “quality or proficiency of men…” instead of in reference to moral behavior (Ferngren 176). Those days when I eat right and am active, I am in high spirits, I feel good, and I am more motivated to achieve things. According to new US dietary guidelines, most Americans “don’t get enough health-enhancing and disease-preventing nutrients” which is a major problem that is not only physically detrimental, but also discouraging in terms of one’s mental health (Mayo Clinic Staff, “New dietary guidelines” 3). When I feel healthy on the inside, I have greater self-esteem and confidence and this is really important when it comes to how others view themselves or they potential.
