Accident rates are high in construction sector compared to the other sectors (Bust et al, 2008; Gregory and Simon, 2006; Wang et al, 2006). The things affected due to accidents in site are costs, time and quality sometimes. The company has to bare the costs of the accident that has taken place on site and the budget will be more than the actual budget. AWARENESS OF HEALTH AND SAFETY
The three key factors that a health and safety management has to cover are quality, safety and environment measures. In safety, hazards are minimised and required facilities are provided. In environment, we need to minimise pollution and reuse the waste materials if possible. ‘Construction management has a perpetual and unswerving challenge to ensure a safe working environment’ (Griffith and Howarth, 2000). This program should be conducted before they start the work in site and this should be in such a way that every person in the site follow the rules.
