Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

A teaching assistant will have a very important role in ensuring the environment for children is kept
safe, healthy, and hygienic. A teaching assistant will work closely along side the classroom teachers
in making sure the correct methods are followed out with regards to health, safety, hygiene matters;
this would be to provide an overall safe working learning institution for its learners. Plus, it would be
important and applicable, with the same view in mind with relation to members of staff and visitors
also attending school.
A teaching assistant will have a duty to ensure even simple roles which would include thorough
maintenance of the classroom is managed and the learning environment is safe, free of existing or
potential hazards, plus,

would need to be free from dust or dirt which could lead to the widespread
of infection, harmful germs and school sickness leading towards if not kept under control fast
become an area for concern as it could result in absence or even worst, possibly lead to school
closure altogether.
A teaching assistant will be expected to have a good knowledge of health and safety school
protocol, prevention methods, policies and procedures with relation to ensuring, safety, and hygiene
standards should be maintained and that so to be of good adequate standards as per
recommended by school lawful regulations. As a teaching assistant will be working along the
classroom teacher, it would be of an importance that any matter or issues needing to be flagged up
should which would then therefore once raised can allow for problems to become managed and
solved overall.
It would be important for general inspection checks to be made which might involve checking
resource materials such as paint brushes, pallets, which would need to in working order and not
cracked or broken. The checks would need to be performed on order to prevent harm or injury to
anyone e.g prevent accidental cuts. Furthermore would include the prevention of harm to any child
(emotional distress) and the spread of germ contamination and or infection in general by touch of
what might be contaminated objects or work surfaces.
