Us students at Mosinee Middle School have all grown up in a quite small town. I believe that most of us growing up small town is what turned us into the strong, thriving community that we are today, and that it has created lots of the geniuses of the past and present. There are many opinions on the better place to grow up, but I think the best place of all is in a small town.
My first and most important reason of thinking small towns are better is that stress is a minimal. In smaller towns there are less people to start rumors or say bad things about others. There are fewer people to spread rumors too, as compared to big cities and those things spread like wildfires. There isn’t as much of a rush to go places because there isn’t as much

traffic and you don’t have to stress being late to your job or to school. Secondly. Independance, when you live with a small population of people there aren't as many people to help you through the struggles of everyday life. Being independent sets you up for life as an adult, and you have to do almost everything for yourself. As my eigthth grade teacher Mrs. Theil once said (multiple times throughout the year) “Mommy and Daddy won’t always be there to hold your hand.” This shows that us as kids of a small town need to realize that we won’t always be able to rely on others for help and we need to become more independent. The last thing is, hard working. In a small town you have to work hard and earn everything that u get, nothing just gets handed to you. It teaches responsibility, you have to work hard for what you get and it makes the things that you do get more valuable because you earned it instead and you don’t want to break or lose the things you earn more. It shows that all actions have a consequence or a benefit, the actions and choices you make are more impactful because of a smaller environment. The best place to live is in small town. Living in a small town builds strong character, and benefits the area and people around you. Many people believe that bigger cities are better for jobs or opportunities for success, but really small towns have equal opportunities, they’re just more physical than big city desk jobs.

Public transportation, by way of subways, busses and ferries, are cheap and easy ways of getting around a metropolis, whether going out to work, school, or for a night on the town.
