Do you ever wonder what you would do if you were being chased by a zombie? Last October on the weekend before Halloween, I got to find out the answer to that very important question. My friends Ashley, Anna, Vikram, and I decided to go to the Great America Fright Fest. It’s a very unique event where the whole park is decorated for halloween and filled with lots of scary attractions for the entire month. It had been a sweltering day for late October filled with lots of cotton candy and rollercoasters, and as the sun sank lower into the sky the real fun began.
It had finally gotten dark enough that all of the dazzling park lights had turned on. I heard screams of people in the distance as we walked across the park toward ‘Roar’, the wooden roller

I looked over my shoulder and realized that the zombie was tailing me! I ran through the entrance of a nearby ride and stopped to catch my breath only when I was sure the zombie wasn’t following me.
“Grrrraaaahhh” someone behind me yelled. I yelped loudly as I jumped and turned sharply around. There stood another zombie with a bright red mask who was also wearing a dark black cloak. But this zombie had a bloody axe in one hand causing me to scream very loudly. As I bolted in the opposite direction back out the entrance. I ran in between 2 of the arcade booths, then looked over my shoulder and sighed in relief as I realized this zombie hadn’t followed me.
Before long I spotted my friends a few feet away and I walked in their direction. I found my 3 friends roaring with laughter, and I couldn’t help but laugh as well. A few hours later we were all piled in the car and Ashley’s parents drove home. We sat in a comfortable silence because everyone was exhausted from all the fun that we had. I smiled to myself in the dark, as I thought about what an amazing story my trip to six flags would make in the

...ey walk out of a haunted house, ensuring that it is going to be a scary one. Nowadays it’s hard to find a place to go to on Halloween that isn’t overplayed and not scary at all, but there is a place and its Universal Studios.
Screeches erupted from each and every corner of the dark green maze, leaving its occupants scared and scarred. The noises grew in ferocity and lowered in pitch, wavering between calm and deformed, octave to octave. It stopped momentarily only for the screams to reach increasingly violent levels.
Zombies; cannibalistic monsters; decomposing corpses brought back to life; the walking dead. We all know of them. They are one of the most popular doomsday themes to pull from for movies, games, and tv shows. We are all familiar with what your standard zombie would look and act like, despite them being a fictional creature. The zombie franchise is booming and with so many zombie centralized medias out there for consumer enjoyment, it’s to be expected to see some variation within the monsters themselves. Two popular apocalyptic games, Dying Light and Dead Island, are two prime examples for how dissimilar they can be. In these two games the zombies differ greatly in appearance, capabilities, and specialties.
Choosing the right weapon can make a difference between a dead zombie or becoming one yourself. Always keep a weapon on you or around you at all times. Maybe even more than one. Some weapons include a gun, knife, bow and arrow, and any sharp object any item around you could mean life or death. Fighting a zombie is not only dangerous but it’s suicidal. If your weapons are out of reach you will have to fight them off. Use blankets and pillows to wrap your legs, torso, and arms so it is harder for the zombies to get

We’re both looking at the top of the roller coaster track begging and pleading that we be taken off. “I don’t want to ride, somebody get me off!” My life had flashed before my eyes as well as my best friends. We began to tell each other that we loved one another. Before we knew it we were at the top of the roller coaster looking down at all of the people who were walking around still living and breathing enjoying funnel cakes, turkey legs and ice cream. As for us at the top of the ride were having panic attacks and screaming as loud as we could but no one seemed to hear us. We were getting ready to have the ride of our lives.
When we awoke the next morning, we got dressed and left the hotel headed towards Six Flags over Houston. My grandfather had bought us some coupons for the entrance fee so it would not cost as much. When we arrived, the air seemed very oppressive. The mood had already set itself to a very depressing day. We walked to the entrance and we found out that the coupons were no good. That did not stop us our parents paid the normal cost. We were finally at Six Flags.
Now that I am inside and a little scared, I started to think this was a bad idea. All I see are bald trees and it's extremely hot. I start walking toward the bright light I can see from a far distance. while i was walking I felt like something was following me, I turned around and there are five zombies following me. I start running as they gain on me. I have no weapons and no water. I continue running and see a dead man's body holding a knife, so I grab the knife and immediately turn around. They are getting closer so, I ran to the nearest one and go straight for
After eating our sack lunches, our group of five decided to enter the park. I can hear the roller coaster tracks and machinery almost sounding like a train, watching the faces of the people. After...
Zombies were born of Caribbean and bayou voodoo. They weren’t undead and flesh seeking, as society knows them today. They were people who were highly suggestible and didn’t think for themselves, being controlled by the voodoo practitioner. These stories quite often involved dark magic and rituals. In reality, it was a mix of herbs that caused the suggestible state. This fear is understandable as the government of the time grew increasingly powerful and every other system began to collapse during the Great Depression. The only way to survive would to be entirely subjected to Uncle Sam’s will.
Gasping in terror I awoke and shot to my feet. He was gone, but where, how long had I been here and ...
Adrenaline invigorates people and feeds the natural human desire for it. The easiest way to supply this craving is by being scared. Halloween is a day revolving around this beast and all wishes for it will be fulfilled, causing my time to be spent at a haunted house. Right before Halloween, my friends, Caroline, Sydney, Amanda, and Abe, decided that being scared was the best way to celebrate the coming of our favorite holiday. Sydney found a place that claimed to be the scariest place in New Jersey. I agreed because I knew that it was only going to be actors wearing makeup who were just trying to startle people. We were told that it would take us around thirty minutes to get through the house, so it would not be too bad if one of
The night I went to the funfair my senses had overwhelmed me; they were attacking me inside, from all directions. I felt trapped, as though I was stuck in an everlasting twister. Then, to one side whilst spinning round and round the array of fluorescent lights with colours flickering in and around my eyes, blinding me with their brightness I saw it, the field of fun! The lights were viciously glowing, winking like a lighthouse through the cracks of thick fog, shimmering upon the metallic surfaces creating a feisty glow, painting the sky with a pallet of colours which enlightened the darkness above.
In recent years, there have been a plethora of film releases that pertain to the central topic of zombies. Typically “zombies thrive in popular culture during times of recession, epidemic and general unhappiness” (Drezner). Zombie films began around the 1920’s, and continue to fill modern day theatres. These films, although dramatized for entertainment, are something that truly could, and have, occurred. These films have been modernized, in order to fit the desires and demands of a modern-day audience, and therefore are tremendously different from their original zombie-film counterparts.
