Sometime work and school can have a lot of pressure and can be so stressful that you can think straight. In Rachel Rodriguez's article Goofing off on company time? Go for it!, she argues that people need breaks from the stress and should be able to have fun in a work enrvironment. It can "foster increased creativity and teamwork" and "better productivity and quality of work". I agree with Rodriguez's idea because it will produce something better in the long run and be enjoyable in the process. In Rodriguez's article, she brings up that twitter has a climbing wall and yoga class. Twitter is a multi-million dollar company and they have been doing very well. Many companies strive to become as sucessful as Twitter, but they don't have the fun needed to be like them. I personally found that whenever I move around more and excerise a bit before homework, my mind is more clear and I have more new ideas. It clears my mind of the old ideas and allows for new ones to emerge. I also tend to work through problems a lot more quicker and efficently when I excerise. Twitter has a very wide demographic and they constantly need new ideas. So if they need fun in their employee's day, they will do so, in order to build an empire. It is can be akward if you are the only one being off task and everyone seems to be on task. When people do it along with you, you are more likely to follow. It is similar to if when you follow your parents just because they are doing something. Employers needs to be the parents and to show the employees that it is okay to have fun. Rules has to be followed by the people who made it before they expect someone else to follow it. People have been taught that you have to look productive and hard at work in ordered to do well and not get fired. They now need to undo that and show people the new
