The majority of society, excluding a few, have come to a belief that women cannot play competitive sports with men. Although, not allowing females to play with men could soon be coming to an end. Many coaches and school athletic programs still do not support girls with boys in athletic sports.
The main issue with women playing competitive sports with men is the physicality aspect. Women generally produce about two-thirds the amount of total strength and applied force that men produce. Women are also physically built so that they generally carry two-thirds as much muscle mass as men. This shows the difference in strength and that men are typically stronger, and that most of the difference is based on body size. In a sport like football, we can all agree that a 250-pound man running full speed at a 120-woman, wouldn’t end too well. With that being said, injuries would be the deciding factor in Coeducational sports.
Another issue is the ability for both sexes to excel while mixing genders in a sport. Adding in all the size, speed, and strength factors, most girls aren’t going to play to their full potential. For example, the play can become more fair, players tend to behave more responsible when playing against the opposite sex. Stronger players are aware of this and they play less aggressive, there are fewer complaints, little to no trash talk or fights in comparison to same-sex sports. Men to develop more patience.
