Frida Kahlo was with her boyfriend Alex Gomez when they got on the bus to get home to Coyoacoan, Mexico. The bus could not stop and was hit by two cars which hit the back where Frida and her boyfriend were sitting. She began painting after she was severely injured in that accident and lived through more problems. Frida Kahlo passed through very hard times but that did not mean she had to give up. Frida Kahlo is an influential female role model because of her dark background, she inspired people with her artwork, and she was able to work as a painter even with her ilness’s. Her self portraits became a dominant part of her life when she could not move for three months after the bus accident. Frida would always say that she liked painting herself because it was one of the things that she knew best. Kahlo admitted that she never painted dreams but painted the reality. She was invited to France by Andre Breton in 1939 and was featured as an exhibition of her paintings (Frida Kahlo Fans). Frida had always admired Diego Rivera for his artwork and Diego had admired hers and soon started on a relationship and got married in 1929. Their marriage was not good because they will both go had affairs with different people (Frida Kahlo foundation). Frida Kahlo was a bisexual and her affairs with women would not get Diego mad on the contrary, if it was men, it will cause him jealousy. They divorced because Diego Rivera was having affairs with Frida’s sister. They then had a second marriage on the year 1940. Frida Kahlo died on July 13, 1954.(Frida Kahlo
