Title: Frida Kahlo a Female Icon
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience of the Life of an iconic artist that was Frida Kahlo
Thesis Statement: I want to share the Life of Frida Kahlo that led to her recognition as an Iconic artist even today.
Introduction
Attention Material: There is ongoing speculation that Frida Kahlo would have never came to be as well known if it wasn’t for the marriage to another Famous Mexican painter under the name of Diego Rivera. Although both had different styles of painting, Frida Kahlo was being rediscovered by many particular women because a lot of herself inflicting paintings connected to a big audience of feminists. 1926, Spends several months in bed to recover from the injuries she learns that she won’t be able to have children of her own
D. 1934, gets an appendectomy, an abortion and an operation on her right foot to get the ends of her toes removed
E. 1939, she gets a kidney infection and is hospitalized

A. Diego was 20 years older than Frida when he met her
B. Frida pursued Diego and took him from his wife at the time (Hamilton, 2011)
C. Rivera encouraged Frida to start painting more often when they began a relationship (Gross, 2013)
D. Both Frida and Diego had affairs and a lot of the damage that Diego inflicted on Frida emotionally went straight to her paintings
E. They both welcomed open relationships
