Flack Session 1 Journal
Since 2008 I have been to a few different colleges, a couple of them were online schools and I decided to change my degree a several different times because I wasn’t sure what it is I wanted to do. I have taken classes and studied for a degree in Accounting, Sports Management, HVAC
(Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) and Business Management. After all the different subjects I have studied for, I feel I am well prepared to finish what I started and earn a degree in something so that I can start a career soon.
While here at Colorado Christian University I can use the knowledge that I have gained from the other schools to help me with my academic studies, submitting assignments, and writing papers in APA format. I wasn’t sure if I belonged there thinking maybe I wasn’t smart enough or disciplined enough for college studies. After a couple weeks I got over my fears of being a college student with the help of other students and faculty members.
In 2009 I transferred to University of Phoenix and studied online courses, which I found was very different than being in a class room face to face where you could get help or ask questions. I learned very fast that it is easy to procrastinate. I was always looking on face book, checking my emails, family and friends were constantly coming to the house while I was trying to study or do my reading assignments and there was a lot of reading and information to take in to complete the assignments. After the first couple weeks I learned to manage my time better to complete my work and reading assignments, spend time with the family and be able to get out of the house. Time management is a huge factor when taking online classes. So with this in mind, I know what it is I have to do while here at CCU If I plan to complete my
