Throughout the year, the five competencies that I have gained this year is my ability to solve problems independently, present information clearly, monitor my progress to achieve what I want, my passion over things I am interested over a long period of time and my ability to ask questions and respond to simple questions. To start it off, the first topic I will be talking about is my ability to solve problems independently. That being said, the reason why I think I gained this skill is because although there were some things that were difficult for me such as the chemistry unit and the biology unit, I was still motivated to learn the things that were causing me some trouble. I did this by, practicing the worksheets, listening in class attentively
Prompt #5: What skills do you consider most important when it comes to teams and teamwork? Which of these skills do you feel you possess, and which ones do you need to further
Introduction: Many assessment tools and interviewing skills are available to the clinical social worker within a mental health setting. This paper will examine one such assessment tool, the competency-based assessment, and its applicability in a mental health setting. A comparison will be made between this advanced assessment method and a generalist social work assessment. Interviewing people who have mental health concerns can offer challenges for clinical social workers. Several interviewing techniques that can help with some of these challenges will be outlined.
I develop multiple skills and abilities from various experiences, especially leadership and communication skills. When I took the accounting information system class, I was the leader of the group project, which was to lead and assign group
These are the skills and competencies I have learned through my studies at Walden University. Kaslow, Grus, Campbell, & Fouad, et al. (2009) stated professionalism comes from my respect for those who need help. Integrity can be built with confidence in the therapist. Attitudes are charitable, polite, caring emotions toward others that fuel my motivation toward helping. This concern welfare of others comes from my religious and personal experiences as a child and young adult.
Ethical behavior and practice is my strength while, Certification is my greatest weakness, and I really have to improve on it now that I have started on education.
To diagnose my learning needs I must be honest and realistic about myself. The strengths I have as a leader consists of personal mastery and building a shared vision. Personal mastery is the discipline of continually clarifying and deepening our personal vision, of focusing our energies, of developing patience, and of seeing reality objectively (Senge, 2006). I have always strived to improve myself so that I can excel in every task that I set out to do. There ...
Many Scholars characterize the core qualities and skills necessary for an effective leader. Useem defines leadership as “Creating a vision and translating that vision into actions”. Historically, an effective leader was assumed to be exceptionally knowledgeable, authoritative, and dominate. Those leaders applied the command and control method to lead an organization. With the passage of time, this definition has been changed. The modern definition of an effective leader is honest, courageous, trustworthy, inspirational, and result-oriented. Today’s leaders create shared values and vision, and empower others to achieve their targets.
One of the skills is your ability to effectivally communiticate your knowledge and beliefs about health. Personally I believe this is one of my stronger skills. I’m always sharing my fun facts about health, giving workout tips, and even telling people that their gatorade should be half-water(thank you Mrs. Lettner). This is one of the easier skills to improve because it could be as simple as looking up a simple health fact and spreading it around to people. Although it is a very simple one, I also find it to be one of the most important because when someone tells me a fact or belief about what can help my health, I always look it up to see if it’s true and from that way, I’ve gained a lot of knowledge about my personal health.
These capabilities that I have are ones I was able to develop on over the course of this semester. Now that I can recognize my skills, I can focus on how to improve these skills even more. Even though I’m good at poetry, description, and narration I can still build and improve these
Then I will talk with my field supervisor to determine what strengths she has observed me using. This will likely allow me to identify additional strengths that I have not yet identified. At times I struggle to identify my own strengths through self-reflection because I commonly believe I can make improvements and focus on those areas rather than on the strengths that I have acquired. In addition, I can take advantage of opportunities that arise in the practicum that will allow me to implement the strengths that I have already developed such as communication skills, organizational skills, and listening skills.
There are several core competencies found in our educational institution. I will touch on just three of these core competencies. The first competency is the integration of school wide essential vocabulary taught and applied in every classroom throughout the institution. These essential vocabulary terms are very important due to the fact that they are high frequent terms found on all benchmark assessments. The second core competency is implementation or integration of evidence based instructional practices utilized by all educators specifically the practice of explicit instruction with the I do/ we do/ they do/ and independent practice model. The third core competency is the focus of creating an overall positive school
Another one of the strengths I possess that will benefit with me in self-learning is my motivation. I have always been highly motivated in everything that I do in life but especially my education. I know that education is a tool that helps the world and betters individuals. At a very young age I knew that I wanted to be a nurse and I was able to learn how to become one very young by watching my grandmother. She always told me that being motivated by yourself is the best push you can have in school, so I always pushed myself to focus and do the best that I could no matter what was going on in my
My stage of development would be proficient in all four domains and components of professional practice, however, few domains and components are my higher strength and the other areas are needed improvement. The four years of my teaching experience, I had the opportunity to be evaluated by my principle, and she used these four domains of professional practice. Through her expertise and suggestions, she provided guidance to develop and improve my skills in the stage of proficiency or to the expert stage. The classroom environment and professional responsibilities domains are my strength that I worked on past few years. Nevertheless, I am continually building more skills and foundation on components of planning and preparing for the content and instruction part. I work with different students need and learning styles every year, therefore I am continually learning the new strategies and information to help all my learners to success. Furthermore, I have been developing and working on improving in content, pedagogy, knowing student’s learning and self-knowledge areas. However, my weakness in knowledge areas is performing higher co...
