Research Topic and Research Question The idea of fitness to most individuals is the condition of being healthy and physically fit; the actions of attaining a fit status is through committing healthy behaviours like a healthy diet or engaging in physical exercise. However, nowadays, the definition tends to shift between individuals depending on other influences, such as society's expectations on how to look beautiful and "fit" in a presentable way. The idea of fitness in North America is often changed because of what society deems fit; and the idea of fitness showcased by society varies between genders. My research question is: social awareness of fitness and gender have any correlation. If it is said to be true, would North Americans still approach fitness the same way or differently? Also, what is the relationship between fitness in society's viewpoint linking genders in North America?
