Quite obviously, technology is essential for many of us and our future. For instance, students interested in improving their ethics or academics, technology can potentially be a great option to educate themselves effectively and cognitively, moreover, students including myself utilize smartphones and chromebooks almost every day in order to finish up and turn in their assignments. Electronic media, which is defined as various ways of communicating that are electronic (i.e. TV and Internet), has made communications quicker and more convenient than ever. For example, in schools, teachers and students educate/learn by using electronic tools including Canvas, Google Docs, Skyward, etc. According to Source B, “Research that once required days in the stacks or periodical rooms of libraries can now be done in minutes.” This evidently shows that technology can really boost and shorten many people’s work, furthermore, electronic media contains one of the greatest ideas, writing, and images in the world. By using the Internet, students will be able to find relevant pieces instantly and use them as an example. However, having these resources unavailable for a week can cause difficulties because students will no longer have access to view online assignments, sources for research, or search the web for course-related materials. The problem also applies to the teachers, Source F says, “Flewitt’s research in schools also found that iPads made children more cooperative and helped quieter kids to speak up.” This illustrates that technology is giving confidence to many students, but banning any electronic media for a week can generate conflicts to teachers since they have to teach their students physically when they can enhance their teaching with using technology.
