I think this torch was the most unique creature in the library. From the first glance, it caught my eyes right away when I first stepped on the second floor. My first impression on the Fiesta Tower was very colorful and amazing. When, at first, I didn’t not know that it was the Chilhuly’s Fiesta Torch, I thought it looked like blowing fireworks and lighted up the whole space by showing bright colors and extraordinary shape. Then, I read the information board and realized the name of this artificial structure was the Fiesta Tower. The name of it matched perfectly to the impression of the structure. It made out of glass materials that reflected light to make it twinkle and shine, which helped it to express a bright energy of fiesta, just like …show more content…
its own name. Its various kinds of colors fit very nice to the surroundings. I guessed the reason why this vivid structure didn’t seem odd in the picture was because of the yellow walls of the library. The collaboration of the yellow walls and colorful structure harmonized with each other and these bright colors helped the library to have positive energy around it. This library was not just about books. It combined with art. 2. Alameda Museum, Market Square It was the place where the Mexican culture was very concentrated, when I first stepped in there.
I felt that the market square represented that the culture of San Antonio was a mixture of Mexican and Texan culture. It showed how Mexican culture was falling into Texas. I saw a bunch of restaurants and stores that expressed the culture of Mexican, which was impressive how one culture seemed to be concentrated in one small place. It was very crowded and disordered. There were lots of people visiting the square. It was very fun and interesting place to go look around. The colorful flags hanging in the air matched with an atmosphere of the market square and added to play a part in a state of chaos. It was cool to walk around and see what Mexican culture was about. Alameda Museum had changed its name to the Centro De Artes and was holding an exhibition of Roberto Gonzalez. I liked how this museum categorized the walls by colors so that it was easy to classify the themes of paintings. The paintings were very cool. In my perspective, the colors of the paintings were pretty dark and had a low chroma. But I felt that the mood of the paintings was very glamorous and bright, which was strange and …show more content…
amazing. 3. Guardian Angel and Boy Tile Art The first impression of this tile art was very beautiful and sweet.
The colors of painting looked very cozy and warm and it matched with the next wall with colorful decorations. It covered one whole side of the hospital, which looked very cool. This giant painting easily caught my eyes from a far distance. And I thought the intention of this painting was that there was always hope for young children like the little boy in the art, since it’s a children’s hospital. This could inspire us that every child in this hospital was protected and cared, as the angel was looking after the boy in the painting. Just like the boy was taking care by an angel, it let the children visiting hospital think they were very precious and didn’t let them lose any hope. The part that the angel was caring for the boy and the boy was holding and caring a bird in his hand made me think every creature was valuable and feel very warm. That was why this art was picked to be on the side of the hospital that had a good view for everyone even from a distance. It was significant that this painting was very inspiring and encouraging to give a
hope. 4. La Villita Just like its name, La Villita was a cute and very tiny village. I felt that I was stepping into a small toy neighborhood which was filled with tiny houses from a fairy tale story. This village seemed very familiar to me. It looked like a small town of a theme park that I might have been to when I was a kid. I felt like there must be dwarves living in those small houses and a tiny fairy with wings might come out from nowhere and ask me some questions. It was because tall buildings didn’t exist inside the village. However, right next to it, there were tall hotels along the boundary of the village. When I was in the middle of the building and felt like I got smaller along with the whole town, as Alice in the Wonderland took a pill that made her smaller. From the first glance, this town looked little bit odd, when I saw it from a distance. While the surrounding had been transformed into an urban city, the appearance of this village was still very historic and it seemed that most of things were preserved well. I assumed the reason why these two opposite places were in harmony was that the function of the village had been changed by time. It turned into a tourist spot with a bunch of restaurants and stores. I was little bit sad that this village had to transform to get into modern society. On the other hand, it was a good thing that this town got along with environment around it and still kept its own shape. 5. Torch of Friendship This sculpture was a very cool modern art. Because it was a big structure with a bright color, which made it to be easy to catch an eye at a distance, and located in the middle of the road and close to the river center mall, I used this structure to see where I was and where to go. It had a very unique and cool twisted shape. It looked like two branches from the bottom meeting on the top and making a twisty and round form, it looked very modern and artistic. This sculpture looked very great by itself and also matched with the surrounding area. It located in the middle of a roundabout without a traffic light so that it looked nice when cars were spinning along the sculpture which had a three dimensional circle shape on the top. Also, it was very colorful and vivid. Its color was very bright reddish orange, which was the reason why it was exposed to view easily. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bright color of sculpture, it looked very cool.
Wayne, transforms this painting into a three dimensional abstract piece of art. The focal point of the painting are the figures that look like letters and numbers that are in the front of the piece of art. This is where your eyes expend more time, also sometimes forgiving the background. The way the artist is trying to present this piece is showing happiness, excitement, and dreams. Happiness because he transmits with the bright colours. After probably 15 minutes on front of the painting I can feel that the artist tries to show his happiness, but in serene calm. The excitement that he presents with the letters, numbers and figures is a signal that he feels anxious about what the future is going to bring. Also in the way that the colors in the background are present he is showing that no matter how dark our day can be always will be light to
When that room is entered all voices are hushed, and all merriment silenced. The place is as holy as a church. In the centre of the canvas is the Virgin Mother with a young, almost girlish face or surpassing loveliness. In her eyes affection and wonder are blended, and the features and the figure are the most spiritual and beautiful in the world's art.
The wing of angel Garbriel reflects through the light. The round glass window reflected the grass, the curtain in front of the Virgin Mary looks into the mirror. The architectural interior constructed in the painting makes the vivid images, the closet in the back of the Virgin Mary was old, and well- constructed. The painting was simple used of rough brushes to make the painting smoother, the way they stand as they looked into the mirror are the same, the complex composition, as well as the lyric quality of the drawing and transparency of the colors, are the characteristics of the painting. As shown in the painting, angel was try to look at the mirror carefully, this painting portrayed the scene angel give a seriously look, and the clothes she wears shows the status during that time. The rectangle shape of the parcel was old, they are all stare at the one places. The carpet was very different, and the triangle shape on the ceiling paint very
The mission of LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes is a non-profit organization/museum founded to celebrate and cultivate an appreciation for the enduring and evolving influence of Mexican and Mexican-American culture, with a specific focus upon the unique Mexican-American experience in Los Angeles and Southern California. The museum itself is near where Los Angeles was founded in 1871 and includes a 2.2 anchor campus that includes two historic and renovated buildings (Vickrey Brunswig Building and Plaza House). All surrounded by beautiful public gardens. La Plaza is also located near the heart of Los Angeles surrounded by other ethnic sites like Little Tokyo. (However after visiting one can 't help to realize the homeless problem in the Los Angeles area, and realizing some are even Chicano.)
The artwork is very interesting as the painting is very detailed and have a strong sense of symbolism behind the center piece. The content of the Monument to Mignard can be looked at a grieving woman thinking about her husband on a platform of a monument. There is two cupids grieving to the left of the man and in front of the woman. One cupid sitting on the edge of the platform clutching a dead bird on its arm, symbolizing that there is death between the two lovers. The other cupid that is standing up crying holding its right hand against the side of the man, which symbolize that the man has passed away and not among the living. There is an angel looking down at the vicinity of the man, woman, and the two cupids. The angel himself could be the angel of death, which takes the dead to heaven. The painting takes place inside building that is probably around the roman era because of the perfect arches and their integration of the Greek Doric columns. There is a total of eight columns, four on each side that supports the arch in the upper middle par...
First, the size of the painting drew me in before all. It measures at 339.1 by 199.5 cm, surrounded by a large golden frame. The size alone is enough to bring in any person passing by. Once getting close, the really wonder happened. The story told by the painting
Her art gives you the value of color and dimension. Esteves use different prospect to create her image of her style of house she imagines. However, this painting make me feel as if I can interpret her viewpoint with my own perspective and have that owe it’s not just a house feeling. But, what I value most about this piece is that Esteves painting is just not a house, she paints an unusual house that has very rare distinguish features that if you don’t analyze it properly you would miss some of the astonishing details she tries to incorporate. Also, I like that this painting because of the tulips, the arrangement of the tulips appears to be very distinctive. All in all, what I learn is how to print and dye on silk, and how when you put all form of art together it becomes this beautiful
The Interpretation/Meaning (III) will be written without any guideline points, the aim of this part will be to determine what the painter wanted to express with his piece of work and what it tells us in a symbolic or not instantly clear way. This part will also handle why the artist drew the painting the way he did it and why he chose various techniques or tools.
The content of this painting represents a Christian worldview because of all the symbolism inside the piece. The most predominant image in this painting is the light house, which is also the focal point of the piece. The viewers eyes are first drawn t the clouds in the top right corner of the painter before following the ocean waves to the shore that lead to the light house. A light house has always been a symbol of guidance as it is a beacon that guides sailors safely back to shore. Kinkade uses the light house in this painting to symbolize the love of God. The light house is shining brightly in his picture even though it’s not dark yet. In the same way God will always be a light to those to wish to follow Him. God will always lead us back to him and be a guide for our live. He will make sure that we always survive temptations. As the light house guides the ships out of the storm, God will always guide his people to the promise land.
...ility and the inability that humans have while they are asleep and dreaming. With every single object and or living thing shown he is making a statement and everything in the painting itself symbolizes something in the world. The portrait is a very unique and maybe one of the hardest pieces to interpret. The observer has to look at every little detail in the painting whether it be the lines, the colors that are used or the expressions that are being presented.
( footnote book ). This painting had multiple purposes, it was used in religious rituals and commemorated as a funerary moment of Christ. In the painting there are three fictional spaces one which holds the chapel with the trinity, Christ the son on the crucifix, we see the dove, the Holy Spirit, looks like gods collar, and above we see god. He’s demonstrating the sacrifice of his son which redeems human’s sins. A second space where we see young St. John the evangelist and on the other side there is the Virgin Mary presenting the second space. The virgin’s stoic impression; penetrating the audience, saying that it’s a reminder of what Christ was sacrificed for and the constant reminder if redemption. She’s not the fallen virgin, she is very somber and serious. This is why this is considered a devotional piece and also what Alberti would call a ‘historia’. Mary is the one is the historia depicting what is going on, as Alberti states, she is the character that beckons the audience with her hand, holding a ferocious expression and forbidding glance, this is the gesture that invites you to laugh or weep with her.(footnote course) In this instance it is to remember and be thankful to Christ and how his sacrifice redeemed mankind from their sins.
images in this painting, all of which have the power to symbolize to us, the viewer, of the painter’s
Klimt’s goal is painting in the natural environmental and drawing interest to a half of naked pregnant woman while beautifying the scene with various of colors, and shapes in a long robe with her unborn child’s skull on her stomach. Below, the weeping women in the cover of a robe are deeply prayerful for their hope because the mother and her womb can put their life at risk. Finally, Klimt was feeling pleasure for his artwork because he studied the painting of Japanese art, Byzantine gold leaf painting. Overall, this gives viewers an understanding of the mother has a baby in her belly and a small skull on her stomach, which symbol is life or death because the three young women are praying for both the mother and a baby to become hopefully
This painting is considered one of the more unusual paintings because of its perspective. We are able to both ends of the space due to the mirror that he has chosen to include in the painting. This technique was very interesting at the time because it stimulated more of the viewer’s sense of space. The mirror evoked a feeling of being in the scene of the painting and witnessing it for yourself.
The painting usually drawing people look directly with the viewer but on Third Class Carriage, everyone has the empty looking, nobody looks at another and it doesn’t have any conversation on that train. Only looking at these gesture, these clothes, these eyes, these faces can tell a lot of things on that train. The different between lower class and high class, lower class with workaday concerns frozen in their face, express by their eyes. A painting is invested with an air of sadness. The color and light create a little lonely, empty atmosphere. By the way, the dull atmosphere goes with the undefined eyes of an old guys. It brings the indescribable
