Effective leaders make it a point to know the inner workings of their organization/association to ensure they are able to get what they need to be successful as well as provide what is needed to be an asset to that organization/association. By analyzing these means of communication, commonly used in my organization, I can better enable others to use them. I would ensure that I am informing individuals work more successfully than others. I would also advice my command on which forms of communications work better than others as I receive and analyze feedback for Soldiers in the organization. The expanded operational rhythm of the military has compelled even some of our best and brightest warrant officers to search out powerful techniques to communicate more effectively because leaders depend on the organizations communication procedures to bridge the gaps in communication so information is made accessible to everyone who needs it.
The bottom line is field grade warrant officers are essential leaders, counselors and subject matter experts (SME) in their field and to their organization. This may seem like an oxymoron, but all success in life is based balance. Being tough is very important even in open communication. When someone needs advice and or direction from a leader, the last thing they need to hear is brown nosing or “fluff”. They need to hear the truth, no matter if it is not desired but almost always it is the most effective. Being sensitive is also very much needed. The PDG speaks on this subject “listen to your people, communicate with them and be perceptive to their needs”. A person needs to know that their needs are listened to and recognized. As was mentioned before, this is a two way street, this should be utilized from an airman to NCO and from NCO to airman.

Then they are expected to teach young officer how properly run and manage their assets while bridging the technical aspect so they can make inform decisions. Staff Sergeant (SSGT) Louis Moeller shaped me into the Recon Marine I wanted to be and the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) that I am now. By embodying the Recon Creed and always setting the example, he made me want to be an NCO that my troops would look up to and want to follow. Though not easy to alter a culture, the power of one individual who sets the standard for behavior consistent with the Army Values should not be underestimated. It is imperative that this individual establish credibility through consistent exceptional performance. He must then find a way to adequately influence, through effective communication, the identified toxic behavior and provide sound alternatives that are consistent with the roles of a leader in the military. Warrant Officers in SF are in a unique position to influence both officers and enlisted. The Warrant Officer must establish his credibility through performance, but once established, can provide informed advice and feedback to correct toxic behavior. If unable to effect a change in a toxic leader or culture, then informing the chain of command is necessary to ensure the integrity and reputation of the Regiment are not tainted by a toxic leader inside the ranks.
Military Academy at West Pointe use intense training of communication to train future officers. The training helps future leaders to be effective in communications skills to sharpen their critical thinking skills. The military cadets use this communication skill through their training to produce effective leaders. Communication must be shared through all aspect of life. I can improve the physical layout of my department by putting all the computers at the correct eye level using the ergonomic standard so that it eliminates any type of neck injuries.
Communication is critical to any organization and is necessary in every aspect especially in a military. Communication plays a role in Soldier development, peer to peer relations, Chain of command management, and virtually every aspect of a military operations. Commanders require it the most so that they can execute large scale operations without flaw and that alone requires ceaseless effective communication. If soldiers are informed and engaged, communications with other units are likely to be robust as well.

First, there is respect, just because you have the rank and status of an officer doesn’t mean those below you in your command are going to respect you. A lot of people are going into the army as officers thinking everyone owes them something and that they have to do what they say. All I can say to that is, you’re in for a rude awakening.
