Author Eric Schlosser explores the well-known combination of grease, fat, and fizz in his book Fast Food Nation. In his book, he delves into the world of the fast food industry that provides people with oil-drenched fries, fat-stuffed burgers, and sugar-filled sodas. He uncovers and exposes the truth behind these corrupt companies and its effects on America. The beginning of where it all began was also mentioned in his book. Schlosser’s main idea in this text is that America’s economy and society are being negatively affected by fast food. He argues that the convenience and cheapness of these foods has its unpleasantries. In his book, he discusses how not only the people eating the food are having effects on their health, but also the people who work for the industry as well. There is a very high possibility that the people who work in the slaughterhouses can injure themselves with the apparatuses they use. The theme place, according to worldatlas.com, “refers to the physical and human aspects of a location.” As mentioned in the book, many major fast food companies have positioned their joints from big cities to small towns. With these restaurants that are mostly everywhere, the average consumer that has at least been to one of their branches is more likely to come back due to the fact that they know what they sell, they are familiar with the establishment.
